Is it playable yet?

I have been busy and I haven't come back to play since 1.4 made the game unplayable with all the stuttering and graphic glitches. Have they fixed it yet? I don't want to log on again only to be disappointed.

I mean, the game is perfectly playable as long as I keep nameplates turned off and don't target anything but, that makes the game pretty useless.

So have they fixed it and re-updated it yet?

Thanks.

Well as I stated, it's unplayable for me. It becomes severely jerky whenever I select a target.

And yes:

Shadows OFF

All Graphics settings on LOW

Nameplates OFF

Only thing that matters is if I have a target selected or not.

It's only been 3 days...what were you expecting?

Three days? Wha..?

And to the guys who say you've had no problems, you're not helping. Sure, you've had no problems, but unless you are completely ignorant you know that many many others have.

No, they haven't fixed the bugs yet.

Disappearing speeders are still disappearing.

The GTN is still messed up.

Random drops are still happening.

In short, it's playable, but it's frustrating.

try a "repair" option on your game client?

That fixed issues for many of my guildies...as well as ensure you are on the latest driver set for your rig.

Actually, updating to the latest drivers may be a bad idea for those who use Nvidia graphic cards. The newest drivers make things even worse.

Really? This is good to know because I had recently updated my drivers, maybe I should try rollback on them.

Thanks.

And yeah to all of you who have not seen any performance issues whatsoever since 1.4 came out, what type of computer are you using and what video card?

Everything was working fine at highest settings before this latest patch and other games I play haven't slowed down any so I don't believe the problem is suddenly with my hardware or drivers (unless they introduced an issue).

I'm pretty confident something they changed doesn't jive with my hardware not the other way around.

But I'll attempt the rebuild and check my drivers.

Thanks for the helpful advice.

NP, man. Glad I could help.

That's just plain illogical!

No more illogical than your claims of being unplayable.

For you maybe but thats why it's probably a local issue and not really the game issue.

Sure the STILL has some bugs and I wont try to deny that but unplayable as you describe.

Thats just not so unless it's on your end.

Well I was really hoping they would shut the servers down at Noon EST today and fix it (NOT).

Seriously I figure they shut down and fix bugs all the time, thought maybe over the weekend they figured out what they did wrong and fixed it. Seems like a reasonable thought. You break something, you fix it as soon as you can.

Reasonable, yes. Normal for Bioware, no. They let the entire sound for the game be bugged for months between 1.2 and 1.3 without any noticeable attempt to 'fix' it.

Dude, just stop posting. You don't know what you're talking about.

He doesn't mean unplayable as in it doesn't work at all. He means unplayable as in it's so buggy that it's frustrating to try.

Quad Core i7, Dual AMD 6870s Crossfired, 16 Gigs of Ram.

Do not have any noticeable performance issues at the highest settings. In fact... with the shadow improvements, things look better then ever.

I'll try switching to Windowed mode to see if there is an appreciable difference.

Um, yeah, ok. It's all my fault. I guess my computer just decided to go stupid when that patch downloaded.

If you haven't already found out, no, they haven't fixed it yet.

I'm seeing a lot of the same problems as the OP, as are many people posting on the forums.

Most of the problems seems to be tied to the scalable nameplate option (I have mine off and the game is mostly playable on my eyefinity computer) on computers with crossfire/SLI enabled.

On my Nvidia single monitor system, older hardware, the game runs perfectly.

Odd, I updated to the latest drivers so I could check out the pandas (had to or I would stutter like this game). After logging back in to SWTOR, I could pumb up my shadows to low and shadow effects still on low with nearly no stuttering (NVIDIA). Performance not as good as before 1.4 but, At least I can have shadows on and not look like I am playing a 2-D side scroller anymore. :D

To which I disagree with him unless he has some sort of local issue.

Reason being I run SWTOR on 3 separate machine. 2 at home and one at work and all with various ages, components, devices and drivers As well as all with various settings from one PC having MAX on everything to one PC being low on everything.

YET, his problem seems to be more local than game as he describes it.

I'd be anything from drives to non-updates on his motherboard/chipset. Take your pick or anything in between.

His problem sounds more on his end than the current SWTOR bugs.

I'm just running it on my Dell Latitude with Quad Core i5, Nvidia NVS 4200M.

But it worked GREAT until the patch, then it went to crap.

So what changed? Not my hardware!

Does anyone know if Microsoft rolled out any updates the same time 1.4 came out?
