gabigool
My guild is pretty far behind in progression compared to most of yours, we're just beginning to tackle Kephess. I've noticed one particular area of weakness is our burn-phase dps. I admit some of the responsibility is my own, as I exit each burn-phase with more than half energy and feeling like I should have done more. I'm not using CD, and I feel like I'm still focused on getting FT off which seems too DpE focused vs DPCT. I plan to do what i should have done all along and start parsing, and hit up the training dummy this afternoon. To save a little time I'm wondering a couple things: SS belongs in a burn phase regardless of raid makeup? Click-power trinket for Kephess or passive + power (i use the lowest level pvp one, champion i think). i realize it wont be up for all three bombers but it seems like it would be up for two. if not, passive probably is best. Anyone able to point me to a link towards a thread on this exact topic? searching has only found me sustained dps rotations or short 4-5 ability burst combos- nothing to the extent where i can practice some rotations that would be as long as the walker burn phases. thanks in advance
sankalp
the good thing about a MM is that your damage is front loaded.. I try and stick to my primary rotation in burn phases as well. SOS-ambush-FT-X-X-TD-FT-SOS is what i will use most often. I try and remove snipe from my rotation as I use corrosive dart quite a bit. I will mostly only use insta snipe when i have to move and it will be the first thing i let off as i enter cover.
Rigsta
The gunslingers in my (pre-1.3) republic guild talked about alacrity relics alot when it came to burst or PvP. Might be worth a parse - I think you can get a PvP one for 15K or something in that area. It might be worth saving sniper volley for specific burn phases? SoS > SV > SoS > (insta-)snipe > FT > orbital strike before SV wears off seems like it has potential. This thread has alot of info. My sniper's only lv34 so I can't offer more advice than that. I know what you mean about energy though - ever since I dinged 30 and got Follow-through it's actually difficult to drain energy on a single target unless I spam snipe. NotRonin
There are two burn phases : the bomber, and the walker. For the bomber, and if you're the only sniper in the group, always open with shatter shot : it will benefit everyone else as well. Sniper Volley should be up (45 second cooldown), so your opening should be : (Laze Target) Shatter shot -> Snipe -> SoS -> (SV) -> Ambush -> FT -> SoS -> Takedown (it should be up) -> (optional) EP -> FT. The whole rotation is around 15 seconds. A guaranteed crit on snipe means you don't have to rely on the random number generator for fast cast ambush. You don't do FT after Snipe since FT is a DPS loss. Properly geared, even when nothing crits, you will easily do 25k damage. You should avoid getting the bomb as we have paper-thin armor and no way to get to the walker quickly. For the walker, start off with an orbital strike while the person is going up, and then just follow your normal rotation. It is best to use your adrenal/relic during the walker phase. For the third walker phase, both tank will not be available for DPSing, so you want it below 20%.
Galby
FT is never a dps loss imo. I'm pretty sure I'm right.
