Gryphandor
First, let me say this is a great game. I am only sorry it didn't see more success. Seems years invested in another MMO is a tough egg to crack. Believe me I know. I played WoW for almost 8 yrs. Took me quitting WoW and breaking that bond to come back and enjoy SWToR. Now everyone says FTP is another way to say this game failed. I don't believe that is the case. This game just came out at the wrong time. Had it come out and WoW was more or less over with no more expansions to come. I bet this game would have replaced it. This game is now everything to me that WoW lost and I want to thank those who made this game right here and now in this thread. So thank you this game is a joy to play and it offers me a more complex way to play that I really enjoy. Although sometimes I do think we have a few too many skills. Thats just because I can't map them all in a way I can use every one. Still you guys have a great game here. I hope it is out for many years and maybe after some time this FTP will steal you some more subs from other games. Honestly paying a sub for this game feels worth it to me. I hope many others feel the same way I do. I am only sorry I didn't stick with you from release. You have the better game. Keep it up!
Jamus_Divinus
The game has some issues but I'm hopeful it will last a few years yet. I'm sticking around long enough to see Dantooine, Kashyyyk and Manaan...oh also Dathomir and Onduran.

Nemmar
The game has consistetly been getting better. The criticism it received were relentless and parcial. Its rundown because it doesnt do eveything perfect, and not because it isnt a fun game to play. I dunno if its just me, but in the last update the combat felt tighter. It has progressively been getting better. I want to test it properly on pvp and raids to check if that annoying GCD bug is now out of the game with the patch and new servers. With that out, the game only needs new content and design touches (like class balance and the badge systems in place wich imo could be more streamlined). I would love to see an enchanting/enchancement item system like TERA has. It give you something meaningful to do with your money and values all end-game items, providing good rewards for the enchancement of items and a booming economy for the demand on reagent/destroyable items. Its in my opinion a genious system (bar the RNG). The concept of the maximization of your character stats not ending when an item drops is quite a good one imo. I is so crazy how harsh many people have been to this game. No MMO is perfect on release. Especially now that technology is so much further along and they can do so much more with it. Think back to those first RPGs. Very hard to have much go wrong because of how limited you are. When I compare this game to other MMORPGs I play or have played. It is on its own level. I mean you know so much can be done with this game if we just let the team get to it. While other games I know are just about as far a long as they will be able to get. Thulcondar
It is a great game and I am not going back to WOW (played 7 years). F2P is the wave of the future no matter what folks think. It is the best business model. Statistics show that most free players will upgrade. It is a smart move on their part!
TheronFett
Statistics show that most free players will upgrade. It is a smart move on their part! That's the general idea. Entice them with free, albeit limited, gameplay and then give them fluff via the cash shop with the hopes of snaring more subs. The problem is...this game isn't ready for that yet. F2Pers are just going to stay playing for free, as there's not a lot of content @ 50 to warrant paying for a subscription. 1) Class quests are still buggy. Still. These are things that should've been hashed out a year ago. 2) They can't seem to provide an update (or even a patch for that matter) that doesn't break the GTN. Having the center of the player economy down all the time makes for a frustrating experience. 3) Old player names need to be purged. A ton of players are walking around with funky symbols in their names, and when F2P launches, there will potentially be a large influx of new players who will all have to settle for even dumber names. I could go on and on about the issues with TOR. This game was launched too early. Most games aren't ready for live servers when they go gold, but this one has suffered exponentially. EA has a lousy history with MMOs, and TOR isn't doing anything that makes me feel good about its future.

TY good to see other people who know F2P doesn't equal fail. It is just the way things are right now. The only reason WoW also isn't F2P is timing. The game just came out at the right time. Had nothing else in the market to really compete with. So it got it's player base. Atleast many people I know see right threw MoP. What a childish dumbed down game WoW now is compared to this one. Just my opinion and if any of you still enjoy WoW I mean no offense.
Qarran
Thanks OP. It does need to be said from time to time. With all the QQ in these forums you would think this game is shutting down any day now. lol. I'm here for the duration. I'm enjoying myself more than I could possibly have imagined. And like other games where I invariably stick to one thing, end game for example, I'm doing it all here. And there seems to be no end in sight. I have 12 character slots now. lol! And yes, there are problems to over come and issues to address, but I have faith. Thus far all is well, and looking better.

markcymru
I'm with OP completely. This is my 1st MMo and I couldn't have imagined a better experience. Sure there are flaws (but most seem minor to me) and things I'd like to see added (like same-gender romance), but to criticize the game for that is like winning the big lottery and then complaining that you only got $10 million instead of $11 million ! Tbf if you've never played the likes of UO, EQ, AC, AO, DAoC, SWG, Planetside, SB, EvE, EQ2, WoW, GW, LOTRO, AoC, WAR, Rift etc. you are likely not to notice the things that are..... iffy. However if you have played the above it's harder to not notice them. Edited September 27, 2012 by Goretzu

The GTN always gets screwed up on patch day. Always. And for what it's worth, it's still not right after this patch.
