Fleurdelis
Star Wars Galaxies had bounty hunter mission terminals where they could track down bounties for credits. It also had player created bounty missions. We need that in SWTOR. For player created bounties we could have a gun that tags the player bounty instead of having to kill or capture them. It would also be a way of getting users to create Bounty Hunters if they havent yet.
Cakellene
Feature existing in SWG is not a reason to add it here. What does it add to game, and how do you balance it against other classes?
Fleurdelis
It adds fun to the game and gives Bounty Hunters actual bh missions. Dont turn your nose up to it cause it was in galaxies.
Cakellene
Not saying it's a bad idea just because it's from SWG. Saying if you are adding a class-specific thing, what do the other classes get?
Fleurdelis
A coke and a smile. Different classes have different stories and abilities. This is something for bh's. It isnt a balance issue. Doesnt make you stronger than another player or class. And non bh's can create missions which gives them a part of this feature. Rewards would be credits not comms or gear unless a piece of gear is an award a player made bounty gives. I have one of each class and to me i can tell you my other classes arent jealous. Hell have smuggler terminals where they have to sneak something from one location to another wihout being caught.
Kynesis
The CM's if there were around today, would tell you that this is suggestion has been on their "wall of crazy" right from the start. They'd love to do it but it's just not in the works yet. I humbly submit that this kind of feature would fit in quite nicely with my recent submission for Daily quests to be handled through companions & normal quest areas. Esproc
Open to all classes, any classes, but not against any nor all classes
Darth_Taral
What about some sort of Class Rival system? You get a Weekly Mission where your goal is to kill (in PVP) a certain number of players of a specific class? Bounty Hunters vs. Smugglers (while they play differently, these are the underworld classes; think Solo vs. Fett). Imperial Agents vs. Troopers (same logic). And then Warriors vs. Knights and Inquisitors vs. Consulars (two sides of the same coin). That would be like a Bounty Board, but instead works for any class, still fits with the lore, and adds a bit more depth to the game. Note that kills would be counted either in open-world PVP, specific PVP areas (Ilum, Outlaw's Den), and Warzones. The rewards would be reasonable, to incentivize players to try it, but not too high, so as not to give undue advantages to players who love Warzones (compared to players who prefer PVE might try Warzones periodically). Kendaric
Feature existing in SWG is not a reason to add it here. What does it add to game, and how do you balance it against other classes? If you add it as a PvE feature, it could be an introduction to class-based dailies. It would require a lot of work, so it's nothing to be added soon but it could work. Basically troopers and bounty hunters would have to elimate specific targets (randomly spawned NPC somewhere), Jedi/Sith would be searching for artifacts (might need a couple of instances just for that) and smugglers/agents would get espionage/sabotage stuff (would need special instances as well). Could you flesh out your idea a little more, not just you but honestly alot of the same post pop up here week after week and most of them dont go into any detail or how they would handle issue their idea could cause.. If you are talking about Bounty hunting missions against NPC's well those are all over the game already, any quest that tell you to go kill X NPC or group of NPCs is at its core a Bounty hunting mission, if it is given to you by a mission box or an NPC speaking in alien babble just add in your own reason for doing it and your good to go. If you are talking about against over PCs, How would this work ?( Level limits say +/- 4 level to prevent abuse by high levels in a level 20 ish planet, ) what about on planets like Corasunt or starter worlds, Taris, Blamorarra ? How would it work on a PVE server where you cannt attack them unless they are flagged to for PVP ? How would mission to hunt other Empire Pc's work ? How would you track down the player your hunting ? even know if he is online ? If all you going to do is basically tagg him with out any combat as a non bounty hunter what is my reason to want to give you credits for you to go play stalker ? If this is bounty Hunter only how in depth is this going to be it could easily turn into alot of work to make what would amount to a Mini game that only 1 out of 8 classes could play? if so How do you address the uproar by players of the other 7 classes? Ideas are great but flesh it out put some thought into flaws in the idea and try to find a way to fix them
Darth_Taral
Has anyone played the bounty hunter levels in LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga? Once you did quite a few unlocks (I think you had to unlock Boba Fett, Bossk, Dengar, 4-LOM, Zuckuss, and IG-88, and some other things too), you could go on missions where you had to defeat a specific NPC in an instanced map in a set time. What about missions like that? Available from the Fleet, you have to defeat an NPC in an instanced area, in a given time limit? That mechanism could still be made available for the other classes, under a different name (where Sith players might be tasked with killing Jedi, smugglers might be tasked with killing rivals, troopers might be after Imperial spec ops, agents might be after Republic spies or defectors, etc.) But it would all boil down to a hunt for a specific NPC in an instanced area in a time limit. These could be dailies or weeklies, and be either for L50 characters or have scaled difficulty. What appeals to me too is that the instance might be on any planet, including lower-level worlds. Might be a fun way for a Jedi to visit Dromund Kaas if he's going to an instanced play area to defeat a specific Sith Warlord within 5 minutes.
