Holiday suggestion.

Almost all online games have holiday events. I was wondering if perhaps for certain events, certain planets are made available for a small period of time. They would be unnavigable outside holiday times.

There could be a Christmas event on the forest mon of Endor. Perhaps a Halloween type event for Dathomir. Maybe an Oktoberfest event for the Gamorrean homeworld. A summer event for Naboo and so on.

Definitely have special bosses or social gear become available during this.

"Life Day" is the Xmas/Thanksgiving analog in the Galaxy Far, Far Away. It originated on Kashyyyk as a Wookiee observance, but it widely celebrated. I'd like to see a related holiday event in-game.

But please, please, please don't make it Christmasy. Make it Star Warsy. During the holidays, I get plenty of Xmas. I'd like a different experience in-game.

Please, don't. It is bad enough that I cannot escape all the Christmas-, Easter-, Valentines Day-, Helloween-, you-namei-it crap in real life. I REALLY don't need it in the game.

If it were an in-game event, you just have to avoid the affected areas and you'll be fine.

Don't like Rakghouls? Listen to the travel advisory and don't visit Tatooine during the Rakghoul event. Don't like Life Day? Don't visit <planet where the Life Day event happens> during that week.

Unless you happen to be the level of the planet, or are L50 and the planer being modified for the event is Ilum or Belsavis, it's probably easy to avoid anything like this.

Personally, I like the idea of referencing the occasional holiday in-game (real or in-universe). Frankly, it could be easy to tie it into the lore. "The weak Republic thinks we'll stop fighting just because it's their 'Life Day'. Let's take advantage of that weakness and attack <planet>!" "The villainous Sith Empire has violated traditional Life Day ceasefires and brutally assaulted our holdings on <planet>. Let's teach them a lesson!"
