Jordanskitt
Hey guys, I wasn't sure if this is the right place to post about space. If there is a space forum I must have missed it. I was curious about if you could take down the bigger ships (like the corillian corvette ships) if you destroyed all the parts on it? So far I just clear the cannons on the sides then leave it be. Also is there any particular rule of thumb for maximizing your XP in space? Thanks for any info.
BeToo
You can normally get extra bonus for taking out the bridge of the larger ships (or lower control tower part of space station) ... takes many many missiles or a torpedo.
Ziso
Betoo is correct, on some missions you can take out bonus targets like bridges. basically if you can target it, you can blow it up but these require many missiles to do (grade 2 missile ship item should be okay for lower level ones) and on the harder quests, torpedo's are needed (get this via space comms, level 45 i think from memory). Once you unlock legacy for the 1st time, if space is your main enjoyment, you can pay for legacy perks to increase space combat xp per character also. there are also other xp increase perks like pvp, flashpoints etc
Mithros
There are a lot of different bonus missions available. Some of them are just there for the taking, while others are hidden, and some only open up after you have reached a certain level. During the space station assault missions, for example, there is a bonus for destroying enemy ships. That is displayed as soon as you destroy the first enemy ship, and, in my experience, is hard not to achieve. There is also the hidden bonus waiting for you; Destroy the communications array. Takes 20 missiles to do it, but it's a pretty decent chunk of XP to do so. However, after you reach a certain level, a new bonus mission opens up: Destroy 20 frigate turrets and the four defense satellites. This is not that hard to do, but you have to jump on it early. You only get a single run on most of those frigates, and that first defense sattelite only appears in the initial run-in, so if you miss it, it's gone. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I am sure that there is a more complete list somewhere out there, but a quick list off the top of my head: 1) During the space station assault missions, you can destroy the communicatuions array (coming out of the underside of the station), destroy enemy ships, and destryoy frigate turrets and defense satellites. 2) During shuttle escorts, there is a possible bonus to destroy frigate turrets. 3) During asteroid sweep missions, there is a bonus to destroying the cruiser's bridge, a bonus to destroying the cruiser's turrets, and a possible bonus for destroying even more enemy ships after you meet the initial ship destruction target. Note: If you are playing Republic and using missiles, the bridge is most difficult. Even on the Imperial side it is not the easiest thing to get 20 missiles on the bridge of the enemy cruiser, but Republic characters take a slightly different path and have very little opportunity to target the enemy bridge. 4) During the fleet assault missions (the ones where you destroy enemy ace fighters and a particular command ship), there is a bonus for destroying the bridge of the cruiser at the end of the mission (if memory serves), and a possible bonus for destroying frigate shield generators. When you unlock this bonus mission, it is 8 shield generators for the lower level mission and 10 generators when you unlock the bonus for the higher level mission. 5) During the cruiser assault missions (the enemy ship is set up above a planet and you have to go knock out it's shields and guns), there is a bonus for destroying the bridge of the cruiser, and a possible hidden bonus to destroy frigate shield generators and engines. 6) During the minefield runs, there is a bonus to destroying mine-tender engines and a possible bonus for destroying the heavy fighters. 7) During the space station defense missions, there is a bonus for destroying the cruiser bridge (if memory serves), and a bonus for destroying frigate shield generators. That's all that is coming to mind right now. I am sure that if I am missing something, someone will be happy to point out what a horrible person I am. Or maybe someone knows of a complete guide out there somewhere and can just link that. Edited September 26, 2012 by Mithros
BooHag
http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=155022 The rewards are outdated but it lists every space mission and every objective.
