Kaon "fix"

Most of the wipes I've experienced were not from gear or mechanics, but from group members running ahead, skipping mobs assuming EVERYONE knows the exact path to follow to avoid agro.

That goes for all flashpoints, not just Koan.

sounds like people need to step up their game and learn sometime. They didnt fully fix it there are still plenty of spots to stand.

You can't learn what no one is willing to teach. And even then the path is so narrow you still get agro half the time. Stop being lazy and just kill them. That way if there is a wipe at the next boss, you don't wipe 3 more times getting back to where you were.

Kaon needs a little tweaking to begin with. It's hand down the worse HM FP to tank or heal, at least for me, because the trash is ridiculous. You're already getting attacked by 6-7-8 mobs at once you don't really need to add some that explode, punt, long duration stun, ignore the tank.....etc, on top of it. Not to mention it's probably the one that takes the longest to complete and that's all the while avoiding half the mobs. The turret part does suck to do straight up ,and it's probably responsible for for most PUGs that fall apart to a person ragequitting in my experience, but it's not the reason why I scowl when KUS pops up as the random with the group finder. :(

It's easy when highly geared, but I wiped a lot early on even standing on that wall :(

I feel very stupid, i have run kaon many times, quite easy HM flashpoint, but i must admit, i have no idea what the "standing on the wall" refers to. Can someone kindly explain this please?

Sure! You know that crumbled wall on the right side of the turret? If your entire group were to climb that wall and just hang out up there for the duration of the encounter -- the mobs would literally just disappear and you'd be able to collect the rewards in the chest and move on. It was a little bit ridiculous though. So good on BioWare for fixing it!

YES! WHAT THIS GUY SAID!

nothing pisses me off more then when the tank runs ahead and skips mobs, because you just know that the one to aggro the three elites standing over there is either going to be the squishy DPS or the even squishier Healer.

stop being lazy, kill them for the exp and the loot!

and for the love of god stop and let people heal themselves after you clear each room!

its takes 30 seconds, tops.

Bummer.. I liked that cozy wall spot to just drop down AOE's from.

The Turret needs to be fixed. The firing seems to not work or show up very well. So you can't tell if it's working or not. :) I see mobs taking damage, but not all the bullets show up. I've got a great internet pipe and graphics/cpu.

I'm okay skipping mobs but not in Kaon before the turret. Everytime someone skips the Elite Hunter packs comes halfway through the turret battle with two infected mercs and rocks our group. Sigh.

But agree with the poster above, this is one FPS that could be shortened with fewer trash pulls.

Never knew that.

In my experience the healer, and any ranged would head for the wall.

I've never had a whole group stand up there to 'skip' the fight.

Have they also fixed the way the turret event would trigger early 'on it's own' and not end?

thanks, never knew that

i know some healer like to climb this but, it's not really necessary, mobs die fast, there are only normal and 1 silver at a time, no gold or champion in that even, i think (thoughi can't remember for sure) i never wiped on the turret event. The next one is slightly more challenging i think, especially with undergeared DPS, to beat the enrage.

there was a wall at the cannon boss phase that allowed you to afk while the mobs evaded and reset allowing you to complete the boss phase without fighting.

It was boring and I'm glad they fixed it

same here. I've always done it the intended way and to be honest its my favourite hm fp by far it has the most atmosphere. Never had any trouble other than trash when trying to skip it.

I actually never knew this as well. Being the healer, I climb the wall while the tank uses the gun and we do battle. I never knew you could bypass it completely! But yeah, I don't think I will die if I stand next to the turret anyway, so it's not a major issue (especially now that I know it could be skipped entirely).

Never saw why people did this, didn't seem to help. Everyone standing up there always seemed to get damaged anyway.

But I'm glad they fixed it. Nothing like having flashpoint flukes that make it easier, leading everyone to complain that flashpoints are too easy.

People will take every advantage when something is hard and/or has the risk of wiping.

I know, I didn't start running fps on my 50 till like a month or so ago because I've been pvping since launch....anyways since by this point in time everyone else has run all the flashpoints so many times they could do it blindfolded they all skip all the trash they possibly can. If you don't stay right on their *** they will leave you behind and you will probably aggro something. (I've seen someone else get kicked from the group for this as sad as that sounds). What's more annoying is when some elite mobs are cc'd for you to bypass but in the event of a death where you have to run back it can be very difficult not to aggro something if you don't have stealth.

Most people are only doing the flashpoints for the gear and comms. I have the exact same problem, I only started running fps at 50 about 3 months ago. I've never been in a group that cleared the entire fp, and if you have an assassin, most stuff gets mind trapped to make it a fast run.

It would be nice to do a full flashpoint occasionally.
