idavies
When you reach level 50 you can go straight to a fleet vendor for a token that gives you a full set of PVP recruit gear. That's great for PVP players but what about PVE players? Not only do we have to stump up huge amounts of credits for repairs (PVP players don't btw) there is no big unlock for PVE players once they reach level 50. Why is this? SamuelAU
Recruit gear is the stepping stone for PvE players between the gear you had before and Tionese. It does fine for the easier HM flashpoints and probably even EV SM and you soon move on from it anyway. The thing with PvP gear is that it takes a while to get and you can only save up 2000 commendations at a time, so gearing for PvP requires a lot more time than gearing for PvE. Hope that answered your question
Butvi_Lansim-Zur
If you would get a pve set when you reach lvl 50, tell me why a character would play hard mode flash point The farming would become useless and remempber that purple crafted gear (if propely optimized - veracity set fr tanks for example) is very very good to begin to farming first hard mode flashpoints. As regards me, i would forbid the use of recruit set in PvE (PvP gear very useful n PvE? O.o this is completely wrong imo). Endgame is poor, a free pve set would weaking more the endgame. Pairaka
The reasoning behind the Recruit gear is because is has Expertise on it, which is a purely PVP stat. You're useless in PVP without it. And no, Recruit gear is not meant for PVE. Expertise is useless in PVE and I cringe everytime I see someone in a HM wearing Recruit gear. And you're certainly not going to get into EV wearing it.

Yes, I see what you are saying but the gear curve once you hit 50 is crazy! I played two hours on Ilum and two hours on Belsavis for a total of..... wait for it 12 daily comms! Bioware keep spouting on "yes but you gain legacy xp". Yes you do gain legacy xp. Have you seen the price of legacy unlocks? I don't think I have ever had more than 130k at any time. I haven't even purchased level 2 speeder piloting because the cost is crazy. Check out the guild summit on youtube (sorry I don't have the link) that took place in March 2012. Bioware displayed a whole raft of graphs and stats that they had compiled from the first three months of play. 80%of players had less than 400k in their account yet they still think it's okay to charge 1,500,000 for some legacy unlocks! Bioware also commented that they didn't want players to feel constantly poor but on the other hand they didn't want players to have too much either. I think they could safely move the slider up a bit and only the hardcore fanatics would complain. I'm just going to keep levelling my alts until they all reach 50. Then I'll probably call time on this. The story part of the game is great, I really enjoy it. I enjoy it because I can play it how I want to play it. I never leave a planet until I have reached the higher level of the next planet's recommended level so for example I won't leave Nar Shadda until level 28 (which is the recommended starting point for Alderaan) and by the time I finish on Tatooine I am well prepared for Alderaan and so on... Problem is once you reach level 50 you're pretty much screwed with this tactic as everything is the same level as you are. And somebody is bound to comment on this tactic saying that I don't enjoy a challenge. Maybe I don't! I'm not a hardcore gamer, I play this game beause I enjoy it, I enjoy the Star Wars universe and the spectacular game Bioware have created. If I want to take the easy option then I will. And I bet there are plenty of players that do the same. If endgame gear was easier to come by I would probably stick with it, but as it stands for me at the moment once my class story is finished then I am finished. Pairaka
Yes, I see what you are saying but the gear curve once you hit 50 is crazy! Once you hit 50, there is the daily mission to complete a regular flashpoint, that you can queue for using the group finder, that awards daily comms. The bosses drop comms, and Tionese comms/crystals (yikes!) and also purple gear that will help you get gear for doing HMs.
