You can "end game" gear yourself...and never ONCE step foot in a SM/HM op........it's called: credits!

The GTN sells ever single mod, hilt or enhancement your gonna find on dropped kit in an op.

Is it necessary? No! Is it necessary to run dailies? No! (I haven't ran a single daily yet...). BUT, your gonna either spend a insane amount of credits (most lvl 26 armour goes for 1.5million +) or time trying to get the same kit, you could got out of a SM/HM operation. You can also always grind out the BlackHole comms...but again, will take you a while.

So really, it's up to you. Grind for a week....or run 1 hardmode operation.... :)

1. level 26? >_>

2. you kinda have to do dailies if you want to grind for BH coms. so that would make it necessary to run dailies in that case. the only ways i am aware of to get BH coms are doing the BH weekly and queing for the daily HM FP/SM ops. i could be wrong though.

i'm not saying black hole or anything i'm saying in general for the gear that isn't from any of the pvp vendors columi, tionese whatever the names of it are. i mean i have people telling me just do hm/fps but i don't want to i'm 50 what the hell is the point of doing anything more after level 50? your at level cap what more is there to do other then just let your character sit there and go work on getting another character to 50. i mean its not all about getting the best equipment or gear in game. to me you've reached level cap there is nothing more to do!

If you feel that once you are done with your class story you have ended the game then no you don't need to do any of the level 50 things. However there is so much to do at 50 that it's a shame that you won't do it.

Basically what your talking about is playing the game for your character story only. If that's all you want to do...then that's all you have to do.

There are challenges above 50 (vehicles, titles, pets and so on) that make doing SM/HM Operations and Flashpoints necessary. If you don't want to unlock everything in the game, then don't.

When I started playing, someone told me the game doesn't START until level 50 - and I found that to be very true. It all really depends on what you want out of the game. Only want to complete your story and then finish, then that's all you need to do.

I did SM EV/KP until I got full columi, and the I started to do HM FP to get the BH comms, and doing

my dailies every day I have time for it. Takes you some houres every day you do this. But I must say that the gear grinding prosess has gone pretty fast since I started it. The only thing that I really dont like is that a might hilt 26 costs 3 mill credits on my server :o

Of course you can do HM EV/KP to get Rakata gear, but the Black Hole is better, and you will not die so much.

(you die a awful lot of times in HM operations... And you wil thn spend a lot of credits on repair....)

Very simple, for some the game STARTS when you hit level 50. Raiding, PvP, gearing up, it all starts to have a point AT 50, since before whatever you do to gear up will be obsoleted within a few days. You also need to learn teamwork, master your class, and learn mechanics, because before 50 the entire game is frankly a bit of a joke difficulty-wise. Anyone soloing can easily master it.

For others, who are only after a story, the game ends at 50. They'll miss out on the awesome stories inside the OPs and some flashpoints, but oh well, that's their choice. If this is you, then you can start a different character type and experience his story, skipping the general quests you already know/don't care to repeat.

The little number at the end of the item "Might Armouring '26'" :) The highest level of item...

oh that. i understand what you mean. i tend to consider the level of mods as what shows when you examine the equipment. like this for example: Black Hole Annihilator's MK-1 Assault Cannon. the level of the color crystal would be level 56, and the barrel, mod, and enhancement are level 61. that's how people i know consider them, but i guess some do it like you too.

I will defiantly agree with this. There is a lot more that the game has to offer past the story of the character but if the story is all you are looking at doing, then so be it. Just do the story and start up another alt and don't experience anything else that the game has to offer but who am I to tell others how to play the game the way they want to play.

The dailys are also not just located on Ilum, but on Belsavis, and the Corellia black hole area also.

Once you've reached 50 and finished your class story, you've got the following options:

- roll another character. You can even pick the same class to try different options (I did that on my agent, since I liked the story so much and there was so many mind bogling choices I made I wasn't sure of). You can level differently (pick planetary bonus missions you did not do and so on).

- progress on the PvE route, meaning you gear up your level 50 character in order to complete more demanding operations. Dailies help to gear yourself up, and provide credits for repair and gear customizations.

Dulfy has two good articles about gearing up

http://dulfy.net/2012/04/13/dailies-and-pve-gearing-in-1-2/

http://dulfy.net/2012/06/25/black-hole-comms-and-gearing-in-1-3/

- progress on the PvP route, meaning you gear up in order to fight other players more efficiently.

The last two options can be fun, but feels sometimes like a "grind" if you do it by yourself. Operations, instances and warzones are best enjoyed with guildmates and friends, as teamplay and coordination are rewarded. It's a lot more fun to beat things together.

The first option is more the solo route, that you play by yourself. Nothing wrong with that, you can even combine both. On nights when your friends are connected do some content together, and when you're alone, just hop on your alts. Or you can even level alts with your friends.

As a lot of people wrote before me, it's really up to you what you want to do really.
