iBouncer Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I mean the title says it all..... this is early access / launch, I may not be tech savy / understand how these things work but how the hell are there already these farmers when the launch hasn't even happened yet I've reported almost 30 + whispers for spam ..... I sure hope bioware does something about this
Misnomer Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Oh, wow. I've luckily not seen any yet on the server i'm on. I hope they get that under control fast.
iBouncer Posted December 19, 2011 Author Posted December 19, 2011 Oh, wow. I've luckily not seen any yet on the server i'm on. I hope they get that under control fast. your very lucky, I've been hit with almost 40 tells ...... its annoying
DarthQube Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 jesus....the chinese really are fast ppl...:/ thank god i havent seen anything in ToFN
falkerman Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Yeah I had my first experience this morning on the Keller's Void server. Same guy, did it about 5 times within one hour, and I reported him every time. I just hope BioWare goes hard on these spammers unlike Blizz.
Bizwolf Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I have not seen one. Although I'm sure they wouldn't want to wait in a 2 hour queue to get on my server anyway
PeterMAbraham Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Good day: Yes, I was hit with the gold farmers today... yuck. Thank you.
Rocsolid Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 It is probably because you can get the preorder code for $5 (at least at gamestop) and once the game releases one would hope that it goes away.
StaticImpulse Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 (edited) We should all be afraid. If the Chinese can successfully invade an MMO community in days, what's to say they can't do that IRL O_o Edited December 19, 2011 by StaticImpulse
Lokai Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 goldsellers will always exist in mmos as long as people buy there product.
Hekynn Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I have no clue bud but I reported one and ignored the spammer already before the servers went down. Annoying little buggers.
CVSiN Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I mean the title says it all..... this is early access / launch, I may not be tech savy / understand how these things work but how the hell are there already these farmers when the launch hasn't even happened yet I've reported almost 30 + whispers for spam ..... I sure hope bioware does something about this you dont think the farmers Preorder? they have been grinding since day 1 hour 1 same as everyone else.. but actually prolly harder so they have the money to sell.. just report em.. and dont use em..
Thradar Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Someone's buying gold/credits. And I'd hazard to guess many posters on this forum do, possibly even some people above this post. It's a HUGE market. The Chinese market alone is $300+ million a year...on NOTHING.
Marxeh Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Haven't seen anything on my server yet, and I've been on quite a bit. Guess they're probably going serverto server in stead of just bombing them all at the same time.
Maloss Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 (edited) lol 0 spammer on tomb of freedon nad or i haven't just spotted them. Edited December 19, 2011 by Maloss
icanhasraegtiem Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 You make enough gold leveling 1-50 to buy all 3 speeder training, all skills, level all crew skills to 400 and you'll still have 500k to spend on whatever else. It takes a special kind of stupid to buy credits in this game right now. Hopefully it won't be profitable for the companies and they abandon the game. You'll probably never get rid of power leveling though.
krighton Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 i haven't heard a peep, too busy farming my own credits.
HouseMcCune Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 (edited) Just don't buy from them and keep reporting. They make money by hacking their customers and then stealing everything of value and selling it to their future victims. Edited December 19, 2011 by HouseMcCune
Darth_Sinistor Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 goldsellers will always exist in mmos as long as people buy their product. Pretty much this. As long as players are purchasing the offered services we all have to suffer through the spam.
Skouros Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 The people SELLING the credits arent the farmers, its players just like you and me. Hell, the people who power leveled to 50 are probably swimming in credits right now, I would not be surprised if some of them wanted to sell their credits for RL cash. That's how they have credits to sell already, if they even do. Most of these things are idiotic, advertising gold and such... lol... and you can't even make out what the website is. Many are probably trying to steal account information as well.
ibage Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Had my first encounter this afternoon on Giradda the Hutt. Just a whisper. He was promptly reported.
Swift Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Yeah, so, alot of the big gold selling operations aren't even run from China. But, you know, keep up with the accepted racism.
Colobulous Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 We should all be afraid. If the Chinese can successfully invade an MMO community in days, what's to say they can't do that IRL O_o The Pacific Ocean and the US Navy. Fortunately the Chinese only have the one second-hand aircraft carrier. For now. But seriously, these con artists can easily take advantage of anything they want. It's not hard.
JefferyClark Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) What we need to do is make sure that the people who buy and farm/sell are punished with bans too, or at least remove the offending money from their character. Make it so that the risks are too great to even bother trying to sell it (b/c you can get banned) and hold it or buy it (the threat of the money being taken by GMs as well as banning).
