Jowy
Hey guys, I'll try to keep this short so people actually read the first post this time. I always anticipated that when SWTOR launched, I would be playing it pretty much 24/7 for the next few weeks. Afterall, I've followed it since 2008 when these forums came out, checking out every friday update and listening to every ToroCast podcast each week. I was really pumped just before getting access, couldn't wait to play! Then I got in and... I don't know. I just feel really underwhelmed. I don't feel like playing more than an hour a day. And the funny thing is, I really enjoyed the game so far! It's pretty damn perfect and exceeded alot of my expectations. But why do I feel underwhelmed? I don't know... Somehow, something just killed my hype. Maybe it's one hour server queues? Maybe the fact that people are at 50 when I'm at 10? I dunno.. Anyone else feel underwhelmed by launch? Jaku
No, not really. Will I be playing a month from now? I don't know. I think Bioware will have to pump out a lot of features they have promised or have claimed they are "working on" fairly quickly.
shenfrey
Even though you say you enjoyed it, sounds to me that its just not the game for you if all you do is play 1 hour a day. It happens, we do look forward to games then find out we dont enjoy it as much as other people. Is this your first MMO?
MiraBindo
Exceeded your expectations AND you're underwhelmed? i might be missing something but i dont think those go together.
Miller_Y
I felt the same but more towards the forums and the updates. Got a bit bored of all the hype but I've immensely enjoyed the game this weekend. Major wife aggro though lol
Ramaos
Didn't read but in answer to your question no I think peoples expectations are over powered and need to be nerfed Edited December 19, 2011 by Ramaos
Koyi_Aldira
People who are level 50 did not play the game for what it's worth, remember that. They went around spamming the skip button, if they even touched their story at all. As for the queues, it's been said many times: Be glad they are there. Have you ever played a game that either A) Gives you a 15-20 second lag in heavy populated areas? or B) Sever kept crashing? 95% of the time, this is due to overcrowding and it causes extreme stress on the server. With the queuing, it prevents it from happening.

Underwelmed..yet enjoyed the game and its near perfect and exceeded your expectations... I dont think that word means what you think it means...... you might have Over hyped the game.. alot of people did..again not biowares fault. they didnt give any information for a very very long time to get people excited about.. people made this game out in their heads to be the best thing since sliced bread (sliced bread having been invented the winter before) and now it isnt living up to their expectations.. that isnt biowares fault.its yours. Henigan
I'm not underwhelmed, in fact, I played it so much this weekend my eyes went red and started watering, my girlfriend told me off for playing it enough to harm my eyes and I had to take a break , think it had something to do with the intense gaming for long hours in Tatooine which is VERY bright and straining on the eyes. I cannot stop playing it! It's simply epic.
EveofCarnage
To me it sounds like you over-hyped the game for yourself. I've been playing for five hours a day on average and so far I see no end in sight in terms of fun-factor.

Balbosa
Well, I'm enjoying wz's and class quest but I am skipping out on side quests. Before playing TOR, I thought I would explore all planets and do all quests. But now, I just want to do wz's and am not liking doing favors for npc's lol. I will lvl up by wz's and class quests. SimplyCooL
Well Taris is dragging on way past its welkome. But generally i play around 7-10 hours a day. Been playing since min 1, but taking it slowly. Only lvl 25 now. And you know, what really bugges me is how in a hurry everyone is to get to EndGame. And this on a RP server? Its always, "RUN,RUN,GO, GO,Collect quest, jump over that bridge, trample that person in conversation.... Gezz slow down, what are you gonna do in a few weeks." Jeia
I am the opposite. I had a jaundiced view of the game, due to all the hype and fans shoving it down my throat, so I wasn't expecting much at all. I've been very impressed with the graphics, whilst I find all the voice overs tedious at times, I've enjoyed the game play. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the TOR world. There are issues that I have with the game, but it's not even launched yet and there will be a lot more added in time. A year down the line and it may well be far better game than it is now, with space off the rails, guild ships and a few other possibilities. Lets not damn it before it's even out on general release. You don't get your 30 days without entering a subscription, unless this is unlike any other MMORPG in the history of gaming. I believe it says right on the box "Requires active subscription to play"
Florial
I would just relax and play the game at your own pace. That is what we are doing and we are only level 16 or so. Hubby and I plod along, do every quest, read the stories, craft, gather, and generally move at our own pace. I'm seeing a few folks I've friended in the game just blazing along and one guy is in his high 30's. When I grouped up with him, he was super quick and efficient, blazing from quest to quest. I think that I was the only one reading the diglogue, lol. Don't know if I'm just getting a bit burned out on games in general but I haven't been as passionate about logging in every day or playing every bit of my free time I have. I can't blame SWTOR though--I think that it is just my general outlook on things right now. Once things settle down a bit, I get all my holiday stuff done, perhaps I will have more energy. Underwhelmed? No, just feeling not as energetic about MMOs these days.
