whats the word on 1.4?? It was my understanding that after the server transfers that patches would start happening quicker. This game NEEDS patches to be a little more frequent. I still love the game but theres been A LOT of negativity lately and im concerned. Im worried this games gonna go f2p and put on maintenance mode.

So when are we gonna get more info on the next update? it needs to get on the test server soon. I dont want to see this game keep dying. step up bioware

You want to know why you hear a lot of negative feedback? because generally the people that are happy with the game don't sit and complain about everything under the sun on the forums/general chat.

Could things be better? yes, but its not as bad as many of the forum posts would have you believe.

The lack of feedback is irritating but understandable given the restructuring currently happening at BioWare. I'd hazard a guess that they aren't revealing any details on new content dates because of it.

id like to believe you but I just dont see that being the case. theres negativity towards this game on every gaming site on the web it looks like. Everything thats been going on recently just doesnt bode well for the future. Ive been apart of too many mmo launches and the path this game has gone on mirrors many failed mmos that are either f2p or in maintenance mode.

Im worried that I will have yet again put a large amount of time into an mmo that ultimately isnt going anywhere.

Look over the patch notes under the My SWTOR tab. It seems like a major patch launches every 2 months. That would put 1.4 coming out end of August and 1.5 end of October. Minor patches usually launch every week on Tuesday. Edited by Thaltom

following the current patch cycle 1.4 will be out late august/september. They seem to be shooting for 1 content update a quarter which is a pretty impressive really especially compared to other MMOs.

You obviously haven't played very many other MMOs aside from maybe WoW.

really? how many games have a faster patch cylce?

Rift is the only one I could think of but their patches are much smaller.

LotrO, AoC, WAR, EQ1, EQ2, WoW (6-8 months between patches) and others all have a longer patch cycle.

So what other MMOs have a faster patch cycle??

But seriously, Rift had the right idea. A modern MMO needs to function that way. BioWare instead went for the 2004 model and couldn't even pull THAT off correctly. Maybe if they had designed their own engine instead of licensing a cheap piece of **** to push their crappy abortion of a game out the door faster... then maybe they could've designed it to provide rapid iteration of content in order to release at a faster pace and appease a market .

Hey look at that PROOF you have no idea what you are talking about.

Another arm chair developer thinking he knows anything about actual game design and game engines.

Rift uses the Gamebyro engine the SAME engine that Warhammer Online uses. So would you mind telling me what advanatages bioware would have gained by making their own engine since the game you praise was as you said "lazy and licsenced a cheap piece of "%## engine"

Way to go noob.
