Keeping Customers? -20 Days Remaining

1) Increase the rate of updates so that new content comes every 30-60 days (world events would count).

2) Abandon the subscription model and have people pay for periodic updates / expansions. Something like Valve tried do with HL2.

3) Continue as is and watch the servers become ghost towns again (most likely outcome)

I'll predict option 3 as well... That said I'm not in the same boat as the OP, but I understand his frustration. Atleast after FFXIV bombed, they brought in a new producer, and came out with a timeline of when they expected things to go into place. New quest, new job system, new items, etc. You didnt have to know specifics, but knowing that there was at least a general idea of how the game would progress was reassuring.

I think in the end thats all the OP is asking for. Even a general idea of next month would be enough probably. But with the developers being quiet and all, is not reassuring or comforting in the least. They could say something and reassure people in a similar dilemma as the OP. Or they can stay quiet and watch people unsub and walk away. ...I'm still predicting the latter.

Nope, dosent look like they care anymore.

Bunch of players are about to be forced to renew their subs, and they are still silent, this shows complete lack of.. well.. everything.

6 month sub loss + Gw2 sub loss + MoP Sub loss = Game goes F2P or gets Shut Down.

And if they had never done the sever merges your toons would still be on 2 different servers, it was your choice to start on a 2nd server.

I would never have built a new character had they not said its in development.

I built the new character on Fatman with 1.2 when it was announced character transfers where coming in to be part of 1.3. I actually took Tanksin over marauder at that time. At the time it was stated the class was fine and didn't need additional tuning and I had a 17 on the other server I stopped playing and wanted to see the story more and rather enjoyed the classes utility.

Well the assassin got nerfed almost right after I hit 50. That was amazing.

Then when moves hit they stated no forced moves. Is it really to hard to assess where Bioware is headed because they are constantly back tracking right now.

I just replied in another thread about the paid transfer issue. It's pretty obvious that many are worried about this. They might not be vocal about it on the forums, but they're definitely worried. Like you said, with GW2 and WoW:MoP on the horizon, SWTOR is gonna take a nice one, two, punch in the coming months. Maybe not F2P (I wouldnt doubt it though), and definitely not shut down (it is Star Wars after all), but its definitely gonna take a large hit.

Did day 1 they announced Naddist Rebels destination server. It was prophecy of five.

I had re-rolled to Fatman because Naddist Rebels was unplayable.

So they are still abandoned and I am pissed off.

I did the exact same thing on Naddist Rebels as well, but I coped and just patiently waiting for the other transfers. I love the game and find reasons to play not get pissed off. In any game you play you will always find a way to get "pissed" at.

I am a 6 month subscriber, who pre-ordered and beta tested starting in November. I registered when I first heard you where developing this game. I fully intended to ride this out for a long period of time.

I will not resubscribe to the game unless I can unify my characters on 1 server. The notion that I cannot pick from the servers at this point to bring my 50's back together after having to abandon them on Naddist Rebels to have a playable MMO is absurd. You've got what 3 North American PVP servers. What is the difference. I don't care where they end up, but I want them together.

If my account goes into unsubscriber mode the list of things that are required to have me re-subscribe are vastly longer laundry list of items, and I don't think you anywhere close to delivering them.

I am sure many others have issues that are deal breakers. Having abandoned my main just to be able to play this mmo with other people is mine. Oh great server moves. Except mine get put on a server I didn't pick to re-roll on to play with more than 10 people.

Its been long enough.

The server merges were terrible. Most poorly done **** that I have seen. They should have looked at Rift to see how its done right.

Haha - seriously? The mergers were unbelievably smooth.

Not for all of us, some of us got left behind through no fault of our own with apparently no concern from Bioware that merging multiple servers into one could result in some players maxing out their destination server. It was a poorly thought out scheme for those that had over 8 characters.

Customer support for those of us with characters trapped on empty servers is non-existant. :(

Apparently you didnt see how Rifts server transfers went. I meant it in the context of how it works rather then if it had bugs or not.

In Rift you log your character in, clean out mailbox/auction house. Log to character select. Hit transfer. SELECT which serve YOU want to transfer to. Log in and play. If you are a guild leader then all the members of your guild will get a message telling you that the guild transfered and where it transfered to. It does this reguardless of when you log in... if your sub expired and you came back 6 months later ... it would still notify you. You can transfer servers to any server you want, whenever you want, how ever many times you want for free. The only thing is you have a 7 day cool down... so you can do that every 7 days if you desire to.

Id say that is FAR FAR FAR better then..... You have to transfer to this server, that we selected for you, or we will move you.

lol

I dont know whats more pathetic, the fact he actually believes his subs is worth more than ... well ... $15 a month....

...... Or the fact he said "I like this game, but I will quit in exactly 20 days because I cant have all my characters together ,RIGHT NOW! If you dont do as I wish in 20 days... the price to keep me gets higher"

BAAHAAHAHAH!!!

^ THIS

This thread and others like this are childish.

Some things can't be done RIGHT NOW. Bioware has told us that they are planning to increase character slots per servers within time. Right now just I'd say people transfers X amount or at least the least favorite of their characters to Server X, while the more likeable characters go to server Y (or Z).

We all have to wait. No one is a snowflake here.

Yep. At one time they did say players would not be forced to transfer. But I think later they saw how many was leaving and decided there was no way they could justify keeping so many servers up and running with such a low pop sub base. The bottom line is...there is nothing you can do about it apart from posting on here, which more than likely will be ignored.

No. They said players would not be forced to transfer in the initial phase, they didn't say it would never happen in later phases. That sentence is in the context of the "initial service".

My money is the snowflake here. That snowflake will not be visiting Biowares snowflake coffers anytime soon.

LOL for grasping at straws...

“We understand that some of you may be looking to consolidate characters from a variety of origin servers onto one server, and others may be anxious to move to a specific server to be with friends. With the restrictions of this initial service, that may not be possible. We still believe that you will enjoy playing on a higher population server and hope you’ll take advantage of the service, but you won’t be forced to transfer. Future versions of the Character Transfer Service may allow more options in your choice of destination servers and may require a transfer fee.”

Defend to the end brotha!
