phill-fry
Basically where is the gambling, and I don't mean real money, I mean my credits. I need to be able to do long hours of questing and then after be able to go to the closest cantina in the galaxy and just splurge out on what I have earnt by playing pazaac with other players, while have a nice chat with them. I also want to be able to go to the massive casino in nar shadaar and be able to use the slot machines or bet on pod races myabe even bet on areana fights set up by the hutts. This would add so much to the community and perhaps encourage more people to stay subbed. you've done well so far bio ware but you need to keep at it. Sabacc is a cool poker-type game played in the SW books. theres positive cards and negative ones. you try to get a +23 or a -23, and the cards randomly change in your hand unless you slide a card you wanna keep in a stasis field. I wanna goto a cantina after a quest with a pocketfull of credits and play Sabacc! betting on pod races is a cool idea too. It would make cantinas more meaningful and much more social.Collider would be a fun game too. collider is like shuffleboard where you fling comets at the other players planets... Hardicus
Originally posted by phill_fry I also want to be able to go to the massive casino in nar shadaar and be able to use the slot machines or bet on pod races myabe even bet on areana fights set up by the hutts. Why not BE in podraces? You could get a podracing profile, and get a podracer that you can modify it, like a lightsaber, except with Engine (Speed), Boomgun (Use to hinder other podracers), Tank (Allows you to go longer without stopping at a Fuel Station), and Repair Probe (Lets you take more damage from other podracers' boomguns without starting to lose Fuel). The repair probe deploys whenever your podracer gets hit. The lowest level repair probe might just be small and bolts into the podracer, while a high level one would deploy astromech (at even higher levels, protocol) droids to repair the podracer. There's also skill alignments, Champion and Total Loser. Champion means CPU bettors will bet on you more often and with higher credits, which is good because you get the highest bett as a race pay (CPUs might get you 850,000 credits to spend). On the other hand, Total Loser means CPUs are less likely to bett on you, and if they do, it means low credits (as low as 2 credits). Also, spectators will throw trash (i.e. Popcorn Bowls, Pizza Boxes, (Sometimes) Broken Grenades) at you to hinder you. It slows you down alot, but the not-broken grenades actually act like a hit from a boomgun's Explosive Missles attack. Daethorz
Please Add, Immediately, start with Pod Racing or what i call Swoop Racing as it would be the largest & most interactive - community building game you could ever add.

phill-fry
Why not BE in podraces?. Tbh I was meant to add pod racing in to the post but forgot, my bad :L but I totally agree and I meant swoop racing as Pod racing is not actually around in this time period :L
Noobinator
I really can't believe that there were no minigames added to the game at launch or soon after (I guess you can consider space combat as something along those lines, but still...). I would LOVE to see any and all things mentioned here. Gambling, card games, podracing, betting, dueling arenas, etc. These are the sorts of things that add a lot of fun for the community without upsetting other aspects of the game. soapmaker
This is exactly what this game needs. They have laid the ground work for a very engaging experience, but it is time to make the player feel as though they are part of this online world. Adding more "lifestyle" elements would help in the long run. Swoop racing would be an awesome addition, especially with an ability to customize your speeder (As well as our characters *HINt HINT*). You have made a great game Bioware, now it is time to add some level of customization. Time to take this bad boy off the rails a bit and let the players explore this wonderful world you have created and let us truly be apart of it. Darth_Halford
The problem is that there are anti-gambling laws in many states that forbid gamblling in an online environment, even if it isn't for real money.

MadMax_a
I vote yes, I would also like to see PVP racing, racing quests on Tatooine and speed increasing mods for personal speeders. After all why should I get out of car that goes 150 to get on a speeder that goes 30. Klaswald
AshlaBoga
Anyone here clicked on a Pazzak table in Esseles? "This table is not currently accepting any more players." So what the heck does that mean?
CreationXII
Just read this article from gamespy about how essential it is to add "fluff" and minigames to make a succesfull mmorpg http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/world-of-warcraft-mists-of-pandaria/1225272p1.html I believe swtor is missing this crucial element and that is why I am considering ending my subscription. If you look at WOW or lotro or other mmo's that have been around awhile they have this "fluff" and roleplaying elements within the world. I remember spending countless hours just screwing around in goldshire but swtor doesnt really seem to have any place like that. The fleet sorta works but besides trolling in general chat all the fleet is really good for is using the gtn and staging flashpoints or pvp. So far Bioware has not been able to suck me into their world as well LOTRO or WOW or SWG has. What you guys think?

Vitas
I would say 'yes', but wouldn't that rise the PEGI? No, the highest rating for a game featuring gambling is T for Teen or even 12. As long as it's not real world currency and just in-game credits, it will be fine.

Bastus
Definitely agree. I need something to do when not questing, or raiding. Some non-combat entertainment would be great if you ask me.
phill-fry
Until these mini games come to SWTOR the massive casino in narshadaar is pointless, and when I first went there I was truly disappointed I really want to be able to go there and just gamble :L

No there's not. There's laws against murdering people too, but we seem to be doing an awful lot of that in game. Probably laws about driving a vehicle indoors in a built up area too. I see instances of gambling online in every MMO I have ever played. And drinking (for those who aren't 18 or 21 depending on your area restrictions). And murder. And suicide. No, there's no reason we can't have pazaak in game, and am looking forward to it greatly. And Pod/Swoop racing.
