Force Visions: Playable Prophecies

Star Wars lore revolves around prophecies. And those prophecies are what really makes the lore rich and exciting. Wouldn't it be fun to play through those prophecies as part of a "Force Vision" quest? Imagine an extremely force sensitive prophet on Voss, neither Republic nor Imperial, asks for your assistance in interpreting a force vision he is having.

You could travel to Voss and meet up with this prophet, and through his power with the force you could enter a trance-like state to see this prophecy unfold. Although you could not ultimately affect the prophecy's outcome when it comes to pass, your choices throughout the force vision quests could be seen as your way of deciphering the images you are seeing. Your faction alignment and own strength of will could affect your own understanding and interpretation of the prophecy.

Who is to say the original prophets throughout history haven't misinterpreted the prophecies they were seeing? And perhaps that is why this force sensitive prophet calls upon you to assist with the interpretation. It could be because of your exploits throughout the galaxy or perhaps the force called to him to find you. Obviously this isn't something that could be done in a group, since it would be a solo experience like class quests. But many of the quests in this game are solo anyways, so it fits in perfectly.

But imagine how fun it would be to break away from the current storyline and play out some of the exploits of Luke, Vader/Anakin, Obi Wan, Quigon, Palpatine, Mara Jade, etc. Maybe to even see what would happen if they made different choices. What if Anakin didn't fall to the dark side? What if Luke originally did fall to the dark side? What if Quigon wasn't killed by Darth Maul? It would be okay to play out these alternate storylines because they really would just be nothing more than dream interpretation.

You name the future character and there could be a playable force vision quest written about it. BioWare is known for their abilities to write some amazing stories, so I know they could pull this off. These force vision quests are a way to break away from the current time and space SWTOR occupies, and give players a way to experience storylines outside of the scope of SWTOR's timeline.

What you experience in the force vision quests would be between you and the prophet, so it would not affect any current storyline in SWTOR. Gaining gear, credits, and other items through the quest would need to be worked out some other way since you obviously can't have a vision and then walk away with loot you found within it. Perhaps the prophet would pay you for your assistance after the force vision quest is completed.

The general idea is out there, and I'd be interested in other players feedback on what could be done to make it more exciting and enjoyable. Trolls looking to bash the idea can keep it to themselves, since this was posted in the Suggestions forum. I am just looking for players to chime in if they would like to experience something like this. If the post gets a lot of positive feedback, then maybe BioWare might consider implementing it.

Something like this would be a great framework for user generated content a la City of Heroes: a self-contained, hypothetical enviorment where players could craft their own stories and players could run user-generated content without affecting the lore of the game world.
