djkalman Posted May 14, 2012 Share Posted May 14, 2012 Hello everyone, I recently saw a scoundrel (healer) lvl48 on a warzone just spaming and injection to him while he had 2 attacking him, he kept spaming and injection to himself like a stim or a medpack but constantly and he was able to heal himself more than the damage he was receiving, so I am wondering how they do it? Do operatives have the capability to do it aswell? For me (I am only 29 at the moment) it really depends who is hitting me and what their gear looks like. What was the level difference between the two? I know that I can stand there and heal through people that are lower level than me pretty easily. I had a level 14 mara wailing on me and I could still heal the rest of the team w/o thinking about it. Just throw on my two stacks of HoT and he couldn't do anything to me so don't know what he was doing wrong or just because he was 10 levels lower he didn't have the attacks shut me down. Energy management is pretty easy as well once you get the hang of it, so you can heal w/o ever running out especially if they are not doing a lot of damage to you. If a scoundrel is below 30% health and uses emergency medpack they instantly get a free upper hand. So what probably happend is you got him under 30% health and he just kept spamming upper hand, and once he was above 30% (no longer receiving a free upper hand) he used his HotS and AOE hots that can be cast while moving. This is correct. Scoundrels (and Operatives as well) have a buff called Upper Hand/Tactical Advantage. Various healing abilities will grant this buff, and it can stack up to 2 or 3 times depending on spec. Scoundrels have a heal called Emergency Medpac (I don't know the Operative equivalent but they are mirror classes so they have all the same abilities granted the same spec), which consumes this Upper Hand buff but does not cost energy to use. If Emergency Medpac is casted on a player who is below 30% health the Upper Hand buff is renewed, hence it can be permanently spammed if a player is constantly below 30% health. Scoundrels can keep themselves up for a lengthy amount of time this way. Hope this clarifies any confusion.
