However, we aimed to ensure every class had a role as opposed to effectively turning classes off when they carry the ball. Granted, some of those roles are not as obvious or have a steeper learning curve than simply getting the ball over the line (i.e. controlling the middle, cover defense, controlling hazard lines, etc.). The team composition win ratios suggest those roles are playing out for the most part. For example, teams with all Sages and Guardians do not even appear in the top 100 win ratios and the composition with the highest win ratios include a fairly even distribution of Advanced Classes. That, of course, is not an absolute conclusion, especially considering full team compositions rely on matchmaking. We’ll pay close attention to the variance in composition win ratio considering rating when full team queuing is enabled. ...or on a low populated server for that matter where PUGS face off with the same Premade teams continously in Huttball. This is not a problem on servers that have HEALTHY populations but it is for ones that do not. Judging by what you said, you are going to do nothing about Huttball. You are going to control the middle with players doing everything from pulling players 20 feet away to players running straight off ramps, through fire and to the goal? Controlling hazard lines?...what? WHAT?! It doesn't really matter what "ratio" Sages and Guardians appear in. And it's not even the fact that you have to fight premades all day on LOW POPULATION SERVERS (That need merges but go ahead and add to the problem with transfers.) It's the fact that these two classes can BYPASS EVERYTHING if properly coordinated. Huttball either needs to be revamped or REMOVED. It's not so much that Huttball is a bad game, it's so much that when people are scoring goals in less than a minute with no chance to stop them.... I'd explain what the games are like but I don't wish to see more copy cats. I know it's usually a joke but I am almost starting to believe the developers really don't play this game. What they do run is Shadow/Sage/Guardian/Sent teams..... And there is a reason for this.. Have you SEEN a good DPS Guardian or Sage? Properly fitted out they are frightening, especially since it's nearly impossible to kite a Guardian, and they can pin you in place for the Sages to destroy you. The other night I had an EPIC game of Hutt Ball Republic side where we knew it was a premade, we were four points down but out of nowhere we scored, again, and again, and again, then we hit the fourth goal and tied, you could see their well oiled machine breaking apart, the mini teams were running round central... I'd finally been marked as a healer and had 2 or 3 people chasing me around my side of the arena, as far away as possible from my players and the ball itself allowing us to score again and finally.... again to win! So..because you are on a lowpop server, and the opposing team is most often better coordinated - they should remove Huttball? There are so many ways to counter and prevent any class from scoring, i wouldn't even know where to begin... So no, i completly disagree. Huttball is fine as it is, there is no need to do anything with it. Blasphemerr Posted May 13, 2012 Share Posted May 13, 2012 Earlier today we played a match and the republic had 4 PUG gunslingers--was probably the most difficult time we've ever had vs. a PUG. They had a chance to win given how easily they dominated the center, and rafters--but lacking sorcerers and grapplers, they didn't even muster a single score. I understand why people want the match/rules tweaked because at the very least, PUG warzones need to be completive to be fun. and huttball is rarely competitive. Winning generally boils down to whom has the more sorcerers AND is able to control center. I've never lost huttball to a PUG wz in my premade, (though it changes often) at this point is x2 sorc, healer operative, and a tank geared tanksin. I'm not even sure that we've ever had a match last the entire duration. If they made changes to the rule set (NOT CLASS CHANGES) specifically for huttball, I would be fine with that.
