flyersfan Posted May 12, 2012 Share Posted May 12, 2012 It's no secret that my computer sucks. Because this game wasn't released on consoles, I'm forced to play on my less than lacklustre PC. With that in mind, loading times for game are exceptionally bad. Many of my load screen can take 10-12 minutes. This is a huge problem for Warzones. Just today I was kicked from four Warzones for being "afk" simply because I hadn't finished loading the Warzone yet. I have a small handful of guildmates that have this issue as well. Voidstar and Novare Coast are the worst because of the cutscenes are the beginning whenever you enter. The time I have to spend jamming the spacebar, which I don't even want to do, is vital time that I need to get out of the safety zone before I get kicked. This isn't such an issue when entering at the beginning of a Warzone, but I don't think I've ever been able to load into a Warzone in progress. The buffer time to "get ready" at the beginning helps me out, but otherwise I just can't load the map quick enough. I would suggest increasing the amount of time before being "afk" booted as well as adding a setting option to auto-skip Warzone cutscenes. The Warzones cutscenes can also get quite annoying when repeatedly queueing for Warzones. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Loading screens seem to be a general problem so I would hope if they dont fix them they could at least extend the deserter curse for the less fortunate people. Although just so you know, once the loading screen is finished just spam 'esc'. Most of the time that gets me out of the scene before it even starts,while the three dots in. Th bubble thing is over my head. Another hint, if you make an alt, make a consular or an inquisitor. They have a move called force speed which is a god send! Does this apply to Warzones? I'm not sure if it does. It would make sense if it did, though. I also don't want to skip all cutscenes. That's inaccurate. My PS3 is a better machine than my PC. It has a better graphics card and faster processor. I think it may also be younger (not from when I bought it but from when it was released). My PC already sounds like it's ready to explode. I can hear the fan going from downstairs. On top of that, I'd be able to use a controller playing on a PS3 and in HD, so I'd pay double the amount I paid for my game for that. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've just been using spacebar to skip the scene like I do with everything else. Maybe ESC is more effective. Thanks for the tip. My first character was a Shadow, so I've got the Force Speed. I usually don't get the opportunity to use it, though. If I can get into the Warzone, then I'm fine. It's not uncommon that I get kicked from the load screen either. If you'd like to purchase the parts or the new system, then by all means. However, I can't do that and am not really willing to do that for one thing. SW:TOR is literally the only reason that my PC gets turned on. Every other game is played on my PS3 (that's why it was purchased) and other computer things like internet browsing and word processing are handled on my MacBook. When ranked Warzones come they won't be voting me out because I'm not in the Warzone. I won't have been in the match yet. If that seems to be a problem for me, then I'll just play unranked, which I'm likely to do anyway. Yes, it is BioWare's problem. Issues like this are what cause a player to not play its game anymore. At 50, there is a huge push for PvP since you can only really pick one or the other unless you play a ton and only one character. You go after PvP or PvE; if you don't pick one, then you tend to become a jack of all trades and master of none. If I can't get into Warzones to progress my character, then why bother playing? I'll just go shoot Reapers. It's also the concern of the players because they're joining the Warzone with the assumption that they have a team. If there are players that are getting kicked because they didn't initially make it into the instance, then that's a problem. Their team is immediately at a disadvantage with a lower number of players. I'm very grateful that I can load the game. I'm also appalled that my PC hasn't overheated yet. Time will tell on that one.
