I'm amazed at some of the hate in here. It is interesting to see how an experienced player is doing it, even if you don't agree with the OP's methods. And the commentary helps with understanding the mindset of the player, much more desirable to me than listening to random music when I watch game play footage..

 

As a decent Sharpshooting Gunslinger currently leveling a Lethality Agent, this has been very useful to me. Looking forward to the next vid.

Increased aoe damage by 15% for corrosive grenade,frag grenade,orbital strike. Most of your damage comes from spreading corrosive on 3 targets at time. 15% more damage on top of the 30% from weakening blast on the main target gives your corrosive grenade almost 50% damage increase from 1 dot.

 

Does it, um. Actually work? I distinctly recall the engineering talents don't affect Corrosive Grenade, though that may have just been the %crit one deeper in the tree.

 

Napkinmath says that 3 points in explosive engineering would end up granting ~50DPS if it strikes three targets and all three targets survive the entire duration of the effect. Weakening Blast adding additional damage is irrelevant, as damage modifiers are summed before multiplying rather than multiplying one another.

 

I don't think it's really worth the cost.

OP, I liked your vid. It's good to see you having fun :-)

 

However, I do not agree that Snipers shouldn't be on the upper ramps. Huttball is all about King of the Hill. And Snipers are litterally King of the Hill. Cover protects them from leaps and charges, while your knockback will allow you to stop the ball carrier in his track. And you have a much better overview of the battle scene.

 

Then again, I'm not using a lethality build. I understand that Cull is only a 10m ranged ability so you need to get up close. I'm a sharpshooter myself, that is why I feel I should be on the upper ramps. To each his own :-)

That's for Operatives. Lethality gets a different Cull which is like Series of Shots with extra poison damage.

Both tooltips on torhead and dbhater say that cull on sniper and the rep equivalent have a 10m range. the difference is that they don't need TA (Operative/Scoundrel), instead Cull is a channeled ability.

 

If I'm wrong, my two sources are wrong. I will check this tonight on my gunslinger.

The tooltip may say it's 10yd, however Snipers have a baseline ability which increases the range of all Rifle attacks to 35 yards. The base tooltip does not include this.

Right you are. Didn't know Cull was a rifle-based attack.

 

In that case, I revoke my point and say that Snipers should ALWAYS be on the upper ramps. :-) thx for clearing that up

Lethality Snipers are more about mobility than the other variants. The rafters are nice but often times it leads to getting LOSed.

 

Nice vid. How much Crit, Power and Surge are you running with?

 

As far as the naysayers go: Where are your 500K+ Damage vids?

i have a guildie sorc who's a clicker. he's one of the top healers on the server. i'd take him over any other healer TBH. if you're good at clicking, more power to you.

 

Well. If you're going to be a clicker. Be a healer sorc.

 

By best healer in the server, I assure you mean, adequate healer for your guild's flashpoints and possibly raids. That's fine. Healers spend most of the time in one spot in PvE content.

 

A clicking healer will get wrecked in a 50 bracket warzone.

Hi guys, I am currently the top rated sniper on Keller's Void.

 

Over inflated ego aside, how could you possibly know you are the top rated sniper on your server? Especially since there is no way for you to know that or even track that. I was kind of interested to read about your pvp strategy, but when you open with that kind of unjustifiable bull I don't even want to waste the time watching your video.

 

Next time, keep it in check. You won't make it to Swifty status when you lie right off the bat, dude. And if you click and backpedal, I *guarantee* you are not the top rated sniper on your server. Either that or you are literally the ONLY sniper on your server.
