poetshome
So is it just me or is in equivalent gear, does a guardian have far less health than a shadow or vanguard? Is there something I'm missing on this or was this intentional? I've seen that as a definitely frustration when getting compared to shadow players. A second note - on threat. Single target seems to have been fixed but man, shadow is still destroying AOE threat... what about making force sweep high threat?
Jpope
In a hard-mode ops, it is okay to have some trash enemies whaling on dps/healers. Start every pull with force leap, blade storm, force sweep. After you have chained those skills together global taunt when all the enemies are in range. Don't use Cyclone Slash unless you have more than half of your focus and your force sweep and global taunt down. In hard-mode fp's, the most important part is crowd control. Bring classes with crowd control abilities Sages can cc anythingSentinels and Scoundrels can cc droidsShadows can cc humanoid before fighting has begunCommandos can cc anything Jedi Guardians are dependent on gear to become viable tanks. The easiest way to gear up is by running HM Taral V, and HM Maelstrom Prison. Once you get the boots and the gloves, head to HM Esseles. Fighting bonus bosses in these HM fp's is a waste of time, you won't have the gear to down bosses unless the dps and healer are over-geared. Always run warzones, make sure to buy the Recruit pieces and start from there.
poetshome
*grin* I'm in full rakata, partial hole gear Gear isn't the issue. But using dps meters (go mox parser) and comparing to other tanks, it's feeling like guardian dps while tanking is about half that of other classes. Health compared to our other tank in near identical gear has always been about 2k less. And threat is still often an issue. Damage taken seems fairly comparable though I don't have solid numbers on that point yet. Just overall there's a feel that AOE threat is no where near where that of Shadow or Vanguard. Drgneb
Tanks should never compare their dps to that of the actual "dps'ers, thats not our job. Our job is to stand there pissin em off and getting beat upon. And yes, our current HP sucks. Yet another area where BW has dropped the ball on Guardians. I am beginning to think that they gave no thought at all into the true spec of the Guardian, almost feels like a second thought kinda deal. Hopefully soon we will see some positives come our way, should would hate to have to go back to WOW! Maybe time to roll a dps class....

You'll notice he said his DPS sucks compared to other tanks, and he's right, Guardian DPS is *** compared to other tanks, it's the major source of our agro problems. I have a Vanguard tank and in similar gear he outperforms my JG in every way. Bioware is a fail company in every aspect, and it starts with class design.
