I use to have dups all the time. I think they adjusted to loot tables in 1.2 I also got my first mission drop in weeks last night. Again, I suspect the tables have been adjusted. If I'm not mistaken, the chance of getting a cybertech schematic from slicing were lowered with 1.2. Second, slicing lockbox missions. As you said, you find out the level of the item and then run the corresponding missions. Pretty low chance, though, so it will likely take awhile.
