SpoeMeister
This isn't really a fan fiction. This is a situation that happened to me last night and I wanted to share it with the community. If this isn't the place for that, I apologize and the Managers can most definitely move it. My girlfriend and I both travel a lot. At the moment she's in China for already two months and still one month on the clock. During her absence, the internet and most notably SWTOR is my sole interest. I skype everyday with my girlfriend and when she goes to bed, I start to conquer the universe :-). So this week I was travelling myself for work. In a big hotel in Luxembourg I had a room on the top floor. The attendant inquired if I needed internet and I answered with a sound "Yes". He proceeds to hand me a ticket with a username and password for the hotel's wifi. Shortly after he handed me a network cable, barely 1m long. "Le internet sur le top floor may be a bit faible", he said, " so you can use thies cable for le internet". Intrigued by this, I went to my room and immediately tested out the wifi. During the initial login, I managed to check some webpages and startup skype, but the signal was indeed very fluctuating... No big deal, I start up skype and try to initiate a videochat with the misses. This off course couldn't last longer than 5 minutes before everything went to hell!. My girlfriend looked like Princess Peach from the first Mario bros on the Game Boy and she sounded like a troll robot. Frustrated, we cancelled our conversation and agreed it would be best we try it some other time. Off course, if skype doesn't work, SWTOR will most definitely not work. Stubborn as I was, I tried it anyway. After 10 minutes of lagging and barely able to do some of my crew skills, I got kicked out... Now here's the kicker: looking around for the network plug, I finally found it, hanging and chilling there one meter above my bed... Even if I was able to plug in my laptop, I'd had to keep it up manually the entire time or start redecorating the entire room. Both weren't viable options... So what is a nerd like me going to do without the internetz. I can't reach my girlfriend, nor play my favorite game. Youtubeclips take too long to load... Bored out of my mind, I decided to read the Bible. I thought every hotel had one in their nightstand. Now, I'm not the religious kind of guy, but I do like to read up on this stuff in case I need to defend myself against the hardcores. Besides, what else was there to do. Upon opening my nightstand, the Force has reached me and slapped me in the face. To my surprise I did not find a Bible. Instead, staring at me from their dark prison, were two network cables, both 5meters and longer. Church choirs singing, cannons unloading a big bang in the distance, I was saved!!! Immediately after this wonderful discovery, I set up shop and I was able to continue my quest to conquer the universe without too much problems. Tonight I will once again skype with my girlfriend and I thank the Force for this wonderful gift! Hope you guys enjoyed this little story! Sorry for my bad English. Kuronan
The Force indeed prevails when any religion cannot. This isn't a fanfic and doesn't belong here, but it's a good story bro. I'm surprised she didn't give you the 5m cables to start, but then again, customer services aren't always good... Still, good story to read. May the Force be with you brother.
