OneDon
I've got Archaeology, Artiface and Treasure Hunting. My toon is level 19 and I can carry out missons lvl 17 - 24 for Archaeology but I can only carry out mission lvl 10 - 16 for Treasure hunting. The Treasure hunter trainer doesn't have anything to teach me. What gives?
Eternalnight
and it has nothing to do with what level you are and the trainer will never teach anything after the initial getting the skill in the first place... Level up the treasure hunting skill
mathisk
The "level range" for the various crew skill missions are simply rough guidelines for about what skill you should be at for those levels. It's not set in stone, though. If you have the money, you could be a level 10 character doing level 5 skill missions. Also, you don't pay to upgrade your gathering skills, you earn skill points by harvesting nodes you find while questing or by doing the missions for that gathering skill. So just keeep doing the treasure hunting missions, and you'll unlock the second tier when you get to about 70-ish skill points. Or maybe it's 80-ish... I can't remember specifically. Owsley
The levels relate to the points you have gained in that particular mission/gathering/crafting skill, not your level. Approixmently every 60-70 points of skill will open up the next level. Mission and gathering skill trainers only teach you the skill, they do nothing else. The crafting trainers sell schematics. Here is a Crew Skills Guide http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=530 Edited May 9, 2012 by Owsley
Eternalnight
The level ranges in mission and gathering skills are perhaps not directly tied into to your character level, but there is an indirect relationship. The 10-16 missions produce grade 1 materials which are used by crafting skills to make gear useful for level 10-16 characters The 17-24 missions produce grade 2 materials which are used by crafting skills to make gear useful for level 17-24 characters And so on... it seems that there is at least supposed to be that kind of relationship. Of course your crewskills can be at any level regardless of your character level.
