NO_Walking
It's because it's a WoW clone. Every game that tries to be like WoW, just ends up being a shadow of what the game could have been. How about boosting creativity in an MMO, then you might actually be able to hold onto subs.

I agree with you 100% its pathetic that MMOs these days are all the same themepark ride.
Blistrich
Actually, the game is losing subs because it is in vanilla and the endgame content has dried up for many players. This will change with patches and expansions. Subscription bleeds are common throughout the MMO world during these phases, and frankly, the loss of subs shouldn't concern anyone who enjoys SWTOR. Yes, it is a WoW clone, and a very good one. That was actually exactly what I was looking for, because I'm experienced enough to know that the "flawless, super-original" mmo everyone claims they have doesn't exist, and because I'm actually quite a fan of Warcraft's easy-going, uncomplicated approach. Drudenfusz
Most MMO developers think that they can get away with what Blizzard had done with WoW. Basically copying the other games out there and just try to refine it. The problem is that this don't work anymore. This game doesn't have 1/100th of the features that WoW has. Themepark MMO? Casual MMO? Why are Casuals leaving the game 6 months into release than? arcdaemon
Theyre losing subs cause you can't play the game @ lvl 50 hardly. Edited May 9, 2012 by arcdaemon

Themepark MMO? Casual MMO? Why are Casuals leaving the game 6 months into release than? You expect a vanilla title heavy with cinematics to have the same features as a game almost a decade old? The hell is wrong with you people? Seriously, is this the first rodeo for most of you? I see these gripes here on the SWTOR forums, and I want to punch all these people in the face... or at least I did back when I was still subbed to Conan. Everyone still playing that game laughs at the SWTOR complainers. We're like "ROFL... if only they knew..." How about boosting creativity in an MMO, then you might actually be able to hold onto subs. This post is NEW AND ORIGINAL! Please, name me 3 MMO's that aren't "WoW Clones", while you're at it, name me 5 MMO's that aren't Everquest Clones (btw, WoW is included on THAT list). There hasn't been ANY innovation in MMO's in 15 years, get used to it.

I have never played WOW... but, if it is anything like this game (I hear it is...) than Wow must have got boring fast when it first came out? How about boosting creativity in an MMO, then you might actually be able to hold onto subs. It may be a wow clone but it has the star wars theme which appeals to a lot of people. Main reason why this game is losing subs is because Bioware has no business in making a MMO, they had too many servers at launch and 2/3 of servers are dead and people are quitting cause they are paying monthly for a single player game. Then you have PVP which a TON of people love, and you have Bioware doing stuff like taking a MAJOR PVP FEATURE which people were looking forward to OUT of 1.2 just HOURS before release. Bioware is just working too slow to fix problems. I feel like this game was rushed for release which is why we in this span. I cant wait to see server pops next week after Diablo 3 comes out. Blistrich
There hasn't been ANY innovation in MMO's in 15 years, get used to it. Actually, I disagree with this. EVE Online is a brave and novel concept that is unlike all previous and current MMOs. They are the only ones who broke the mold.
Drudenfusz
That is funny because half the people leave saying this isn't enough like WoW. And to some extent they are right, people have expectations nowadays what features the MMO they are playing should have, and most MMOs fail on that (that's why we see all those compare the game to WoW at its launch threads with all the new games, but that is just stupid, I think only RIFT got it right with the features at launch). -Sidac-
the "flawless, super-original" mmo everyone claims they have doesn't exist They never will exist but people arent really looking for a flawless or super original game. People just want devs to see that these cookie cutter theme park mmos are utter crap in the end. Doing the same thing over and over and over and over until you feel like sticking your blaster in your mouth really becomes unoriginal and exceedingly boring. heck, I went back to Fallen Earth. Its not anywhere close to flawless or original and its game play is iffy at times but there is always something different to do every time I log in. I don't stand on the fleet waiting for a queue to pop or a raid to partake in that ive done 5000 times before. while i firmly believe that PLAYERS can create their own content a large majority of majority of the time, these themepark mmos make sure that we don't. A lot of attempts are out there but all have failed due to no reward being given to those who show.
