Acherom
http://www.develop-online.net/news/40736/Pachter-Dragon-Age-3-devs-loaned-to-SWTOR An interesting article that I was shown by a coworker. What implications can we expect should such a move be made? I'm not entirely familiar with the programming staff of DA:3, but would it be a far stretch to assume it contains at least some of the individuals who worked on DA:O and DA:2? I don't think it would be, which then lead me to consider DA:O and DA:2 as 'benchmarks' for what could be expected from the additional team. To the best of my memory; DA:O and DA:2 were, from a code standpoint; rather solid programs. Of the few outstanding bugs that were present upon launch of those games, minor fix patches came out with relative quickness; and I also recall the games running very well on my at-the-time several year outdated computer. Speculation: We now have a team with a track record for solid code joining the SWTOR team. (A positive occurrence most defiantly.) I feel confident that the game will steadily improve (albeit, hopefully faster!) as time goes on. Thoughts? Opinions? Conjecture?
Balrizangor
I think any resources they (BW) are willing to move to the SWTOR project is a great thing and a good sign. I am sure you will get posts of "little to late" kinda bs but those that do post that kind of thing have either 1) already left swtor and are now just trying to spread their own misery around or 2) have never been at the launch of a high grade MMO and don't understand everything is not perfect, at release day 1. But, as I said, this, to me, is great news =)
TUXs
IF it's true, great. But I don't believe everything I read on the interweb.
Senatsu
There is a post on IGN regarding rumors about DA3 (couldn't find the link right now), where a BW rep said that the DA3 team will be made up of people that had been working on DAO and DA2 to make sure the feel of the series remained. The rep also said that they were going to focus on making a mix of DAO and DA2, bring in the more elaborate story parts from DAO, but keep the system changes and general feel of DA2 - "a marriage of the two" I think he said. I highly doubt BW will bring in the devs from DA3 since they need the manpower themselves, but the SWTOR team definitely needs to make changes, if not to the dev team then to the management.
