Remove weapon requirements/Add Weapon Skill System

I may or may not be alone on this, but imo weapon restrictions and requirements is a bit much. Don't get my wrong I don't think Sith Warriors should use blasters or anything like that full time, but I think as a force user you should be able to use any type or saber/vibrosword you wish without restrictions. For example Sith Assassins can use electrostaffs and such, but its just to stand and and look pretty. Maybe add a legacy addition to allow you to master those weapons or add a skill based system that allows you to learn and *level* up different weapon types to be effective using that weapon. It would add allot more diversity and immersion in to the game and give people the feeling that they are actually doing something as their character instead of the linear boring system we have now. Thats my 2c hopefully one day something like this will be added, but I wont hold my breath. :(

Weapon restrictions are part of a class-based system. Why can't my Shadow use two lightsabers? For the same reason my D&D mage couldn't use a sword thirty years ago.

What I would like to see is my Shadow using an electrostaff. Jedi Sentinels can use their class skills with vibroswords or lightsabers but Jedi Shadows cannot use theirs with elctrostaves.

As a sorc, I never use my weapon. I'd like if they got an option to leave the lightsaber in belt

Agree, im a sorcerer too and never ever use my lightsaber. Would love if he could leave it on his belt and stop switching it on whenever I use the force.

As I said maybe something to do with legacy. My main pet peeve is not being able to use electrostaves and single sabers on my shadow and assassin. Something that might work is a skill based system like ffxi where to level up a skill by using a certain weapon or being able to train in legacy due to having another class that used those weapons.

I never played SWG, but from what I herd of it was fine with a smallish fan base of course till they added NGE and Combat Upgrade people loved it before then.
