mmogaddict
With the current character limit of 500 members in a guild it doesn't take many people to fill a guild. Currently we have around 245 account's in our republic guild (The Older Gamers) on Dalborra. Which gives us around 400 characters in the guild currently - with people mains and alts. However with the Oceanic transfers we are going to face serve space requirements. We are tryign to avoid the issue of having to create additional guilds and then linking them with a custom chat channel, as the cstom chat channel controls don't work properly (even if password protected). what we would like to see is an increase ion the size of the number of characters in a guild, or base guild size on the number of account's rather than the number of characters or finally the ability to set an alliance guild which would then have an alliance chat channel. Disodium
Yeah, the guild system still has a ways to come... Alliance, options would be a welcome feature, and to that note war options also I can see why guilds like TOG would want the limit increase or at least options to merge multiple guilds into one alliance. The biggest issue here is that guild membership is character based rather than account based and thus is not efficient meaning 1 individual may have to become a member of one guild up to 6 or so times depending on alts etc.. having guild memberships based on account would ease management for anyone who runs a guild especially the bigger ones like mentioned above as it would account for one member as one member, not one character as one member, and doing this would also mitigate the ability of people looking to use/abuse communities like these as they would not easily be able to hop between multiple guilds at once.. The only separation of this really should be factional.. so if you join a guild on one imperial character, all your imperial characters would be associated with that guild, but your republic characters would not, and could join another republic based guild. All in all, I agree an expansion does need to be done, either that or a more efficient method of guild management needs to be incorporated. Roccobb
Not against the idea, in fact love it. But, are you telling me all those accounts are active? Seriously? You have 250 people who log on on a regular basis? I know our guild is nearing 300. But when I look at last login, it has been almost 100 days since some have logged in. I will expect my guild leader to clear out the dead weight if we come close to the max. If your guild does have that many active, Congrats to you, and I would love to see a screenshot of your guild list, listed by last login. Just the bottom ones. Our guild is separated into 4 guilds. Force users, non force users, and opposing factions. I have alts in all of them. Your solution would ruin our guild rp differences. We separate each guild on our website and forums. Why would you want to take that away from us?
