Meltyfaces Posted April 17, 2012 Share Posted April 17, 2012 This pvp system is in dire need of separate war zones for pug and pre-made groups. On Dalborra, absolutely every warzone i have been in the past week has had a pre-made from one of two guilds all in full BM gear, making it near impossible to even have a chance at winning a warzone. I have had 0/3 for my daily for the past 6 days. I wouldn't be so annoyed if it was a once in a while sort of thing, but people in recruit-only bits of BM gear have no real chance of a whole team in BM gear. We have none of the organizational means that pre-mades have (vent etc) and much more disparate gear levels. IMO it should be hard-core pre-mades vs. other pre-mades and pugs against pugs. And before people ask why not make a pre-made of my own, it is a bit difficult finding all BM geared people skilled in pvp that want to make a pre-made with a random person, shouldn't need a guild group just to have a chance in hell of winning a warzone. V-Serp Posted April 17, 2012 Share Posted April 17, 2012 I posted about this back in beta and warned them that if they don't separate the queues people would get frustrated and leave. Well, people are still here, so apparently the vast majority actually don't give a ****, so they don't have to do anything. God knows why people keep solo queuing when they suck, have no gear, and tend to lose most of their matches. I'd prefer separating the queues, but failing that, let me at least queue up 8 people together so I know I have an actual team that can work together. PVP is not pve.. it requires more effort that running your rotation on someone you think u can kill. NTM, what about the pugs that know this.. do we need 3 tiers of pvp.. Guilds, Pugs and Shortbus? Seriously if pugs quit sucking at everything, they would help themselves out of this mess. PSS their are a small percentage of guilkd dominating WZ's and always will. Your post is just idiotic, there is nothing wrong with separate war zones, it gives pre-mades more challenging opponents and it lets pugs actually have a chance of winning warzones against said pre-mades. You will still have the elite teams farming the majority of mediocre teams, so a fringe will survive once they go cross server but it looks like it might be too late for that. Again, please read the post, I never said I wanted to win 100% of the time, I would just like an actual chance, if it was pug vs. pug and I lost all the time, I would have no problem with that. Instead of discounting the op or taking the gutless anon abuser attitude, try to be constructive. If you want to PvP ,please do it in game, we need the players. Solo PUGs get gear checked. If you have anything more than say a full Recruit set, you're not allowed into the solo pool, you have to go play in the group queue against other group queues. You can have your shiny gear and pretend you are "skilled" for having it against other like minded people. Me? I'll take the exact same gear as everyone else, play against them on the exact same playing field, and I'll call it skill. Just like it is in every single other genre of sports and video games. If you want some kind of Baddie League where a bunch of keyboard turners, clickers and backpeddlers can have "fair" fights by spamming abilities, then no, you don't deserve rewards, or rewards equivalent to competitive PvP. That's not elitist, it's common sense. Words cannot sum up how ridiculous that assumption is. I don't mind if skilled players are in there, or people in full BM gear (with the most unbalanced stat I have ever seen in an MMO, expertise), I would rather the skill of each person be taken into account and not just the fact they have organised teams and vent channel etc. You seem to think this will destroy PvP, it won't, it will just destroy your sad sense of superiority that you get from it. You are perfectly able to make friends with access to vent, join a guild that supports vent, and then play regularly with those same people to get used to playing as a team. Skilled players work in groups, because they know their combined skills result in victory. Skill IS taken into account when you join a pvp guild or group, and then play efficiently as a team to win. I dont think it will destroy PvP, as a matter a fact, the lack of rated WZs in 1.2 caused a few people to leave. Rated WZs is exactly what many wanted, so baddies could play unrated, and skilled players could compete in a rated setting. While correct, you severely over-estimate the capability of the average player in an MMO. In WoW, people still lose their minds trying to get the flag in Eye of the Storm, while allowing the opposing team to take 3/4 bases and wait out an easy victory. That map has been around for 6 years and it still happens. Ranked WZs is their solution to this problem, however, if they allow you to solo queue for ranked WZs it won't solve anything. Because both were better than my own team, that's why they win. What do I do about it instead of crying? I group up with a couple friends when we are all online. And the shock is.. we actually win more often than we loose. There, profit. And we are by no means Pro-PvPers. We simply talk to each other over Mumble and get more coordination from it. If they can keep it separate, the true pvp'ers will shine in the solo bracket and have their own rank. Everyone, including group players will want to solo que for that rating. Of course that dream gets blown up if they allow ranked groups to que against ranked solo. it would suit the needs of the many over the needs of a few.
