IrishTR
Please for the love of god hotfix the Companions Earpiece and Implants... missing out on huge benefits everytime I have to get off speeder/knocked off etc... And while your at it... Let companions be auto summoned in Groups of 3/4 instead of forcing it everytime (in range/out of range) .... And for a nice touch... Let us view our companions like on the ship anywhere not have to constantly summon to check something on them!
Jestunhi
With such a detailed description of the issue presented here how could they fail to fix it?!
FooBard
With such a detailed description of the issue presented here how could they fail to fix it?! It's a known issue since 1.2 Everytime your companion auto-spawns when you get off your speeder... it's as if they are not wearing their earpiece and implants... You have to manually remove them and add them back to them. Haven't you noticed your companion royally sucking since the patch? I have.
FooBard
And for a nice touch... Let us view our companions like on the ship anywhere not have to constantly summon to check something on them! I disagree. On your ship, all your companions are with you... out on the field, only the one you have summoned is. Why do you need to constantly check your companions gear? IrishTR
I disagree. On your ship, all your companions are with you... out on the field, only the one you have summoned is. Why do you need to constantly check your companions gear? Because when quest rewards have multiple items for companion its rather annoying to have to wait to summon and flip between each one... Your SHIP shows up in the field and your not on it! Why not Companions too... Its just a character sheet! That and crafting for them as well! Lord_Epping
The bug seems to affect all implants and earpieces acquired prior to patch 2.1. While not a big deal to new players who can eventually get better implants, earpieces for their companions, it sucks when you have great implants/earpieces on your companions and they "deactivate" every time the companion is summoned away (speeder use, traveling, manual summon, etc). I hoped 1.2.0b would fix this, but it remains unfixed. I sent in a ticket last week on this, so hopefully this gets fixed soon Edited April 18, 2012 by Lord_Epping
IrishTR
I just put brand new ones in post 1.2.0b... Still same issue the stats go away when companion goes away (elevators, summoning, speeder dismounts, anything!) tloops
when doing a flashpoint,i have noticed everytime i zone into a different area,i must re-summon my companion...this is really annoying
MinimumForce
Hell I have to manually remove almost half of the gear on my companion and put it back on them to get their stats back up. If it was cosmetic and they still had their stats but there was a bug in displaying the proper amount I wouldn't mind so much. But as it stands a companion is nerfed unless you manually take off and put the gear back on them.
dtjswtor
Bad enough this made it to live, but they also can't get it fixed like a week later? Not good.

Kthx
Bad enough this made it to live, but they also can't get it fixed like a week later? Not good. You don't just willy-nilly press a button and then have a fix out. To fix an error, I imagine the following has to happen: 1. The bug has to be reported. 2. The bug has to be verified and the conditions under which it occurs have to be identified. 3. The bug has to be triaged (assignment of priority and resources). 4. A fix has to be designed. 5. The fix has to be implemented. 6. The fix has to be tested. 7. Changes have to be made based on the testing, followed by additional implementaiton and testing. 8. The fix has to be placed into the release process to go live. And you know what, this is true for any piece of software, game or not. It's not a game breaking bug. Your companions still work, they are just not as powerful. In practice, I've hardly noticed a difference in terms of impacting game play. FHA-Sal
You don't know what your talking about. Some folks have spent alot of effort getting thier companions decked out. In my case this bug is worth 4k of health and has a major impact on how I play the game. They fixed other bugs that were in the 1.2 patch with out your 1-6 step BS process. I am a software developer and when something impacts the product in a significant way, there is always time to fix it right NOW. So please shut it. Hyfy
I disagree. On your ship, all your companions are with you... out on the field, only the one you have summoned is. Why do you need to constantly check your companions gear? Besides you already can check your companions gear while on the ship. When you bring up your character sheet you can click in the companion tab and in the same spot where you would pick your title you can cycle through your companions and look at their gear. Lord_Epping
Bioware has stickied an updated "known issues" bug list on their customer service board that includes this problem, so at least a fix should be forthcoming. I just put brand new ones in post 1.2.0b... Still same issue the stats go away when companion goes away (elevators, summoning, speeder dismounts, anything!) Huh, that's disappointing. I was hoping it was just pre-patch implants/earpieces that were affected, but the bug is worse than I thought. I must have lucked out with a recently acquired earpiece and implant that does not deactivate on my companion. Still have to unequip/equip one implant on my companion, but at least he's not as handicapped as he was last week. But, yeah, I've been playing a bit less now since this bug was introduced. IrishTR
Funny I wonder if they think with this whole Rakghoul plague goin on no one will notice the rest of the broke crap... Makes you wonder since all everyone does is just stand around fleet now anyhow... No one wants to do anything (at least on my server!) 150 on fleet at peek time standing around, planets 1-10 people with the exception of another 60-80 on Tatooine...
