Let us use companions in shorthanded warzones.

After spending all morning in warzones where my team would start with 5 or 6 against a full team of 8, a simple fix dawned on me...

- Let us fill out a team of 8 with companions

- Whoever has the most valor gets to use them (so, in a 5v8, the 3 highest can use companions)

- Make companions disappear if/when more players join the warzone

It's not a perfect solution, but at least until cross-server queues happen, give us a way to compete if we're unlucky enough to join a shorthanded warzone.

Interesting idea. Even though it sounds like it would be fun, the only reason I would be against it is because I have a feeling the problem will resolve itself with cross server ques and it would probably take time to code in the ability to use companions. Not to mention the inevitable bugs of people being able to use companions when they shouldn't be able to etc., etc.

That would be kind of entertaining though, especially with legacy heroic moments etc.

I think that code already exists though - if you're in a regular group with 3 players and a companion, and a 4th joins, the companion is despawned. Might just be code that needs to be tweaked for warzone ops groups.

It's not a bad idea, but you know the QQing that will be done about who's companion is better geared vs. higher valor issues.

To expand on your idea, if you ran with this idea and made it 4 on 4 WITH everyones companions out you would negate any QQing.

Allow queues for companion and non-companion WZ's too, to kill off that QQ.

dont get me wrong, i am not trying to diminish or look down to your idea or something...

but it is pathetic that us players are trying to fix their (Bioware) "supposed to fix everything" wreckage with hopeless ideas.

granted that it is a good idea, it is still against the nature of PLAYER Vs PLAYER...

You're 100% right - I'd much rather play with a full team of real people, against a full team of real people. But being on either side of an imbalanced warzone is not fun (for me, anyways).

At the end of Beta we had all-out PvP in Tattooine, Empire Vs. Republic. Everyone was in groups of 2 so that they could have their companions out. It was pretty awesome pvp.

Unlike Rift where the companion is a nuisance more than a threat, SWTOR copanions can do some good damage, especially if they are well geared.

Sounds like a great idea, imo.
