How do I get rid of the "Feverish" debuff?

It's impossible to find groups, that's a given... now I can't go questing either because this debuff periodically stuns / dismounts me. How am I supposed to level up? o.O

Edit: just died from it in imperial fleet. Account cancelled, I'll check back in 6 months. I feel like I was beta testing this game.

seriously, you cancelled your account over something like this.... /facepalm, just go to a medical droid and buy the rakghoul vaccine (2k credits), but if you do come back and enjoy the fun which most people are having, you can get rakghoul dna which you can turn in for cool stuff like non combat pets and stuff. It's a world event.......

I wouldn't venture out of your basement anytime soon, real life hurts more and you might consider cancelling life!

Yeah, this thing is bothering me also. I understand it is a world event, but what, do I have to spend 2K every time I visit the fleet just to get over this? I don't care for the pets or whatever, I am busy doing my quests, FPs, crafting, etc. So, is this a way to make me spend 2K every hour or what?

Sorry if I was a bit ruffled. I certainly didn't cancel my account over this event alone. My primary peeve is the impossibility of finding groups, and the fact it seems intentional on the developers' part: there's a known MMO dps glut, and having a healer/tank to dps ratio of 1:1 will obviously exacerbate this, as will not having dual specializations. I guess dying in fleet after failing to find a group, when all I wanted to do was employ my second option and go questing, was jut the last straw.

With that being said it's important to realize that different people enjoy different aspects of MMORPGs. One of the biggest mistakes many MMO designers make, IMO, is to "tell" the players what we should enjoy, rather than giving us a sandbox environment and letting us do as we please.

The things I miss most about EQ (pre-PoP) were the difficulty (and subsequent great reward) of crafting professsions and the fact great gear was rare, thus a model where it didn't bind worked well, and so it could be bought and sold. This resulted in both tradeskilling and bartering with other players being valid paths to advancement, not simply little side games which offered occasional distraction from endless raiding and/or end-game PvP, as was the case with post-PoP EQ and most recent MMOs.

As the poster above me said, some people simply aren't into this, and would be fine with others enjoying it as long as we weren't ourselves being forced into it.

This is a fun game. The questing is a blast and the voice acting is superb. I will absolutely check back in about 6 months, when I hope some of the gameplay issues have been tweaked and smoothed out.

If you die while infected you get some vaccines. If you infect 10 people, you get a good chunk of XP. If you want to craft you can just sit in fleet for 20 minutes, infecting people, making xp, getting DNA (which you can sell), and getting vaccines. You don't have to pay a dime. This event is a net gain if you know what you are doing. That is why everyone is on fleet poping. It's free money.

You are looking for a sandbox MMO, which TOR will never be and never pretended to be. Your initial post seemed very much designed to start people arguing , etc. Ultimately, if you don't like core aspects of the game now, you probably won't like them in 6 months. It's not a sandbox game and just never will be. If you like doing missions so much, why are you complaining about the world event that only impacts Tatooine and the fleet? Leave the fleet and go do missions...

Sandbox MMOs are dead or dying. Look at UO (which I played for a decade). It was the ultimate sandbox and one of the biggest complaints was there was nothing to do (You think THIS forum is full of complainers?). Theme Park MMOs are much more successful because most people need to be led, they don't have a clue as how to entertain themselves by role playing, etc. This is a business and it will cater to the masses.

I was aggravated over this last night as well. Got infected during PVP, got the vaccine, not knowing that it wore off if I died, went back into pvp, died again, got infected again. Didn't feel like waiting long enough to explode (didn't have the quest anyway), and there are people just standing by the medical droid waiting to explode. Staying away from that part of the fleet if I can.

Every time you zone into a new area, the timer resets. If you are doing pvp Warzones, you'll pretty much never explode (assuming a fast queue time on your server).

A. I don't want to hang around until I die

B. I dont want to hang around to infect other people. I am busy doing my FPs or whatever else.

C. 'a good chuck of XP" for what? I am L50, what do I need XP for?

D. I craft as I do other things. I dont sit around to craft.

Why force me to participate? You PvP when you want, you quest when you want, you craft when you want, etc. Why do I have to get infected, and wait to do those things? Why couldn't they do this on a particular planet, and all those who want to take part of it go there? The announcement on fleet said there was an outbreak in Tatooine, why not have it there? And if I don't care to take part, I don't have to go. Doing this in fleet is stupid.

I have to go to fleet, to use the GTN or visit trainers or whatever. And mostly to access FPs. I don't go there to dance. Those who want to, go, dance, and waste their time on that. Is the players choice.
