Morticoccus
I recently made three alts on the empire side to play the Bounty hunter and Imperial agent storylines (Two IAs, Engineer and healer: The probe brigade!) and I was originally going to go with armormech on the BH and cybertech on the sniper. Now, after much consideration I'm thinking of scrapping my 100 or so cybertech and slicing on the IA and go full biochem instead, simply because of how much money I can save that way. Armormech is just going to get better the higher level I get but cybertech seems to just pan out at the top and offer little other than the speeder and top tier ship parts, it seems like it would be a better idea to go with slicing, scavenging and cybertech on the healer, that way I can use most of the in-FP/OP access nodes and provide utility at the same time as healing. And most importantly, I can level bioanalysis/chem up easy by just going Hemet Nesingwary on the native fauna of Dromund Kaas. So what do you guys think, am I an idiot or what? =p
Rhaphael
In my opinion Biochem is only useful at max level. During leveling I have almost never used any stim (the ones you get as drops are MORE than enough) and NEVER used adrenals. I think Cybertech and Artificer are actually most useful while leveling simply because they save you planet commendations, meaning you spend the comms you do get only on things you can't make. If you would need to buy everything it would require too many comms. Edited April 16, 2012 by Rhaphael

I know one of my alts is full Cybertech and he makes all the Armor and Mods that my other toons.
Morticoccus
Well, I just need to transfer all my old materials from my armormech character over to my healer and level his cybertech up that way, as far as I know there's nothing in that entire tree that's BOP anymore. The thing is that while levelling the reuseable medpacks from biochem has proven to be really good, at least on my jedi main. Also, having constant access to mostly free stims is great, at level 40 the main stat boost from a stimpack equates the bost from a hypothetical extra piece of gear. And the implants are much cheaper to make yourself. Finally, even after you've levelled past a tier in diplmacy you can grind materials for comparatively little cost and then sell them on the GTN for thousands of credits.
