illgot
I love the Rakghoul event. But not because it showed up out of no where. It offers customization options. I am not much for grinding gear just for the sake of a 10% increase in stats, but I will spend days grinding commendations for new appearances if they do not handicap me stat wise. The Companion Infected skins are an extremely nice touch and I honestly adore the pets. I am excited to get the new social armour and love running around fleet infecting people Please, keep adding in more fun content. Not everyone lives to improve their stats an extra 10%. Kauhu
Spontaneous, GM made events, are a think that I've been looking up to for ages. I don't care about static festivals with set times ala WoW. Make the world feel alive and you'll keep tons of subs. Keep doing it BW, and also make some events where NPC's are controlled by GM's (DAOC comes into mind..) Evangolis
This is good stuff. These types of events keep things rolling. Its awesome and something to look forward to. I hope we have many more types of things like this waiting to pounce on us in the future.
cycao
Yeah I had no clue this was going on yesterday as I was leveling an alt to unlock another legacy buff, I hope on my main and there are groups of 20+ players grouped together infection each other and blowing up which I thought was funny. Darkulous
Seriously, I bet people will be posting before every major patch guessing on what secret World Event might be in there and rightly so. This event will keep us on our toes. What's next?
Avrid
in game events can be fun or fustrating, and all depending on if you wish to particapate. i am really hope this space zombie crud is over with quickly never to come back. zombies do not belong in the star wars universe. i choose not to particapte in this event so for the duration of the event i have lost access to the fleet as i will not pay money ingame or real to NOT participate. that also means i cannot level alts because it is happening on a required story planet. at the moment im just happy that bioware has given me 31 days free so i don't have to complain that the live event is making 80% of my game unplayable

KOTOR was the first one where you fought the Rakghouls. Galaxies allowed you to fight Zombie Stormtroopers, and there are even two books about it, Death Troopers and Red Harvest. (Both pretty good reads, and I'm not a big zombie fan.) Also, you can level alts just fine. Most of the events on Tatooine take place away from the main story areas. If you are on a PvP server and are worried about getting ganked by the opposite faction, then well, you rolled on a PvP server. This event is fun and keeps the game healthy. Even better still was that this came completely out of left field, and the devs have yet to say anything about it.

If anything you can pick up additional quests and sell the DNA for about 15k each on Fleet. Dying without repair damage and getting about 75k worth of sellable tokens a bad thing? Quraswren
SNIP... Dying without repair damage and getting about 75k worth of sellable tokens a bad thing? Depends on if I want to participate or not cause the money sure ain't worth playing an event so similar to the WOW zombie event. It sucked there and it sucked here. Like most all quests. It should have been those that want to participate.

It was one of the things RIFT did right. They do get old if overdone, but overdoing them is like having something every single day.

It sucked there and it sucked here. Like most all quests. It should have been those that want to participate. Getting infected is an event, not a mission. Missions are optional, but the infection is part of the server wide event which makes perfect sense in both storyline and context. Story wise, there is lore to back up Rakghouls, and context wise... it is an infection. If you do not wish to participate I suggest buying the Vaccines. Bioware gave people not wanting to participate a way out, a very cheap way out. If 75k is not worth it to you to take 5 seconds to die and self res, then 2k per vaccine is a non-issue.
