whodatdude
Hello I just hit 50 and saved up to buy recruit gear. Currently I am in the darkness tree but I got all Stalker Recruit gear. Is this counter productive with my build?
Meeth
as a fairly fresh darkness 50 still in OJ gear i find that i'm much more effective in WZs when i go for more survivability than dps. i put up much better numbers when i don't die every 30 seconds. LordbishopX
Hello I just hit 50 and saved up to buy recruit gear. Currently I am in the darkness tree but I got all Stalker Recruit gear. Is this counter productive with my build? I been running the stalker set of BM and love it myself hits hard as heck and we can still take a bit of punishment so it's a trade off. I have actually switched some mods to add more endurance and power so working for me less criit and acc.
trakata
Right, but he can't switch mods in the recruit set. Also IIRC you don't get set bonuses for recruit set, right? I'd go for survivability, but not necessarily the full set of survivor gear. See if you can split it up. For Darkness 'sins, take the stalker gear that emphasizes Power, as Crit is not very useful for our spec. Fill the rest out with survivor gear to fill out your hit points and some passive mitigation (although as noted in the rest of the forums, passive mitigation is not as useful in PVP due to the prevalence of Force/Tech attacks which ignore Defense and Shield/Absorb). Delillo
Your stalker recruit gear is fine. DPS gear with darkness spec is very effective, to the point that you will find many posts complaining about the combination. As a recruit you are going to be somewhat squishy regardless of what you choose. The good news with 1.2 is that you can be full BM relatively quickly. Panzeriv
At battlemaster gear what is recommended stalker or survivor have heard different opinions on it some say stalker, some survivor and some survivor and put mods from stalker in it?
upzie
I personaly switch, full survivor bm for Hutball running. Full Stalker (remodded) for the rest of the warzones. That fits my playstyle best.
CKNairb
What are thoughts toward Full Survivor w/stalker mods for the 5% bonus guard? I'll be using Battlemaster mods on Centurian gear ( only survivor set I have ) And is it still correct to be using Dark Charge for the self healing? I would love to do this as I guard all the time, but man, that would take a TON of WZ comms to pull off, especially with WH gear.

Skorpeo
What are thoughts toward Full Survivor w/stalker mods for the 5% bonus guard? I'll be using Battlemaster mods on Centurian gear ( only survivor set I have ) And is it still correct to be using Dark Charge for the self healing? Question A) I believe the person your guarding has to be in range for you to get the 5% bonus damage. This can be very tricky and would require you to bounce your guard around to take full advantage. If im wrong and range on guard doesnt matter for the bonus damage, then I would say its probably justifyable because we can switch out the surv armoring/mods for the stalker armoring/mods. Pre 1.2 I would say no because there is more then 5% more damage with the amount of difference in willpower. Question B) I would use Dark Charge on almost every CD but I really focus on using it with more then 1 person in range of it. Also great use of it while carrying or while defending the huttball carrier. Though one of the main reasons for using Dark Charge is for the 150% armor buff. So It's easy to do as most PvP battles everybody is within that 15yd range. And when out of range the Guard and Guarded buff is still active on player portrait. Just to far to actually transfer damage. That could be a bug Edited April 20, 2012 by CKNairb

That could be a bug I wonder if anybody could chime in and let us know if we are indeed getting the 5% buff with somebody out of range? That could change the way we gear for damage. 4pc Surv with all stalker armoring/mods and add on 5% damage is pretty nice.

When I get home tonight I will test and run the logs through a parser Edited April 20, 2012 by CKNairb
