SAMSONYT
I have a question, I have been crafting this one item for a while and now I can craft the purple version, I thought that was as high as I could go with it but once when was crafting a purple they had great success so it was and advanced purple, besides legendary items if you have an advanced purple item is that the best you could ever get from that weapon or do they get even better then that? SAMSONYT
All I want to know is, what is better, purple advanced, purple prototype or purple agumented and can it get better than that?
HeavensAgent
It's dependent on the quality of the base item. Armor, weapons, and modifications that can be reverse engineered to obtain improved schematics generally boast two progressive levels of advancement. For example, if you start with a premium-quality item, your first successful RE attempt will produce a prototype-quality schematic. You can then RE the crafted prototype item for a chance of an artifact-quality schematic. This is where the progressions stops: Premium > Prototype > Artifact If the base item is prototype-quality however, the first schematic that is obtained will be artifact-quality. This new item can be reverse engineered to unlock improved artifact-quality schematics, sometimes called artifact 2 or, second-tier artifact: Prototype > Artifact > Artifact 2 The critical success you witnessed has no bearing on the resulting item's quality. If the item being crafted is a modification, it simply generates a second modification for free. If it is a weapon or armor, and Augment Slot is added to the item. Spaj
Those items starting from prototype which gain 2 more progression levels tend to be astronomical on materials to make as the Tier directly affects the needed materials. i.e the Shield generator i've been messing with is a Blue schematic RE -> T1 Purple (overkill, critical, redoubt prefix) RE-> T2 Purple (Expert, Endowment, Commander, Fervor, Anti-tank etc prefix). http://www.torhead.com/item/bdkqlKT/kinetic-resistance-d-shield-generator The Blue requires 14 green archaeology mats & 6 blue TH gems. The T1 Purple requires 14 green archaeology mats, 6 blue TH gems & 4 purple TH gems. The T2 purple requires 14 green archaeology mats, 6 blue TH gems & 8 purple TH gems! Insane much for a level 37 item. I realised i had burnt in excess of 500k-600k worth of materials on something which would only ever resell @ 20k ea.
SAMSONYT
So what you said was if its an advanced or prototype purple its the same as a regular one, that does make sence, I just want to know If prototype advanced or agumented is better

You'd have to look at the individual items.
SAMSONYT
and whats up with stuff thats purple yet modifiable (like orange gear) I keep getting all wierd combinations like purple prototype gear or purple advanced gear or purple gear that appears normal yet has has mod spots ex. The justice, whats the difference between purple and orange if the purple for some reason has mod spots too?
GnatB
The justice, whats the difference between purple and orange if the purple for some reason has mod spots too? IMO none, which is why (IMO) they need to go through and make all the fully moddable stuff "orange".
SAMSONYT
so Im pretty sure advanced doesnt exist now, as in it wont appear is parentheses but prototype definitely exists and thats the only thing that confuses me when it shows up
