sadran Posted April 15, 2012 Share Posted April 15, 2012 Personally on my low population server we have to go up against teams usually made up half of sages and their effing pebble throwing mass area dps technique that no Empire class can match. Is anyone else disappointed that the ability wasn't changed or reduced in damage with 1.2 meanwhile us healers got heavily downgraded? I can understand that we can interrupt this ability but my interrupt timer has a LOT longer cool down than their telekinetic throw and stuns don't always work, pushbacks don't push anyone back, and healing can't keep up with the damage they put out. When you see all of one class on a team constantly spamming one ability and almost never any other ability than don't you think that ability needs to be changed or reduced? It's ridiculous. We all make fun of it in WZ chat because of how insane it is and thats literally all they use and those sages end up tops for damage in almost every single WZ. As a healer its not possible to keep up with that before 1.2 and sure as hell isn't now. Also Grav Round needs to be reduced, i literally see players running around spamming it constantly because it basically 3 shots most players I heard it was reduced just slightly but i haven't really looked into it i've gotten so sick of pvp after 1.2 that i don't even do it anymore, Were already outnumbered by the Republic on our server (Hanharr) and lucky if we start a game with 6 people to their 8. Usually its more 5 vs 8 or 4 vs 8. Also the frustration with healing makes it more a miserable experience to pvp than it ever was before. Not getting a reward for doing well and losing is irritating as well. As Empire i haven't been in a winning 50 WZ in over 2 weeks. Thats with over 20 matches. So naturally we are going to be out geared faster and not able to keep up which makes us more likely to lose all the more. theres a lot to fix i guess and I'm not merely blasting Republic, Marauder needs to be reduced as well. Basically what I'm trying to say isn't that its unfair they have a very damaging ability, its unfair because we don't have a decent way to counter it. I can still put up 500k+ damage post 1.2 in a long Warzone. BTW, i'm valor rank 92 so I do know what I'm doing/talking about. The problem is that with the healing nerf, unless I get a guard (yeah, a DPS asking for a guard) I will drop very quickly if I come under attack. So, I think we are now the glass cannons that we were meant to be. I wish healers could pump out a bit more heals, and I wish I could get a guard from a tank all the time, but whatever. Biofail can't even mirror right. I don't know how anyone can lose to a Sage 1v1 now, you sort of have to be asleep. Prior to 1.2 Sage/Sorc were glass but could heal themselves and kite a bit. Now they can't really do that. Also the damage on the pebbles/FL has been considerably reduced. Every good Sage/Sorc is just full Madness/Balance now since DOTs are the only damage option. You basically have to hope the opponent has no idea how to remove DOTs and also does not escape and heal themselves, or does not see you and attack you. Especially if it's Mara/Sent. Anytime you fight a group that is made up of half healers that is going to be a rough fight. Sages indivdually are not a problem but you get couple in a good group, you could be in trouble. This post sorta proves that you really don't know what you are talking about...your channeled lightning spell follows the target as well. Madness was buffed and it was what all the good sorc dps played anyway. And marauders REALLY aren't terrible to kill now as long as there is some kiting room... Madness was not buffed, and all the good players played a hybrid build. That's why Bioware removed CL off the Wrath proc, because that's the build everyone had. The 31 pt talents kind of suck for Sage/Sorc. The only "buff" is the wrath buff working on CD, but that's a 15 second cooldown dot that doesn't hit as hard as CL did, and is single target. In return FL lost heavy damage and crit bonuses. The Madness tree lost a lot more than it gained. The 31pt skill in Madness tree is a root that doesn't even seem to work half the time. I think it can be cleansed/purged, and also is affected by resolve. Madness/Balance is an extremely boring playstyle. You can get 400k damage on a long game if you play really well and also are ignored a bit. It can post good damage but it's really boring and the opponents have to be stupid. They nerfed our ability to insta cast Telekinetic Wave. And there is no reason why any Sage should ever be able to cast it now, since it is the easiest move in the world to see. It should be interrupted quite easily. All we have now is Dots & Telekinetic Throw. And again any team with good healers will cleanse our dots. They are challenging for some folks cuz the sage may have some skill with their class. Some of my characters have more trouble with them than others. I do not have a sage/sorc higher than level 1.
