Phima
I like the idea of the Legacy system, it has some great features. However, it's a credit seller's dream. I can imagine a lot of people are going to buy credits to purchase the expensive upgrades like the GTN terminal. So, my proposal is that an additional currency be added to the game based on Legacy achievements. It would work something like this: Each time you complete one of a list of Legacy achievements it would reward you with 1 or more Legacy Points. These could then be exchanged for purchasing the various Legacy upgrades. Depending on how easy they are to achieve and how many are available, I'd go for an equivalence of about 1 Legacy Point = 25-100k credits. Legacy Points would be awarded for things such as: Reaching 50 on a character Reaching 400 in a gathering, mission or crafting crew skill Completing all space missions on a character The first time you complete a flashpoint, then again for the first time you complete it on HM Completing operations Killing bonuses bosses in HMs Reaching certain PvP Valour ranks Achieving a new social rank Killing world bosses Some manner of diminishing returns system would be needed to prevent it being too easy to farm the points on multiple characters. Maybe 100% reward for the first time it's completed, 50% for the next character to do so and then 25% for each subsequent character. This way, people would have more choice as to how they want to earn the Legacy rewards, rather than being restricted to simply farming credits. JamieKirby
hmmm, and those that prefer to solo most of the game? they get what? shafted? Cause from your suggestion, a good one, but kinda forces people to group up to get the legacy stuff, which is a big no-no.

Cause from your suggestion, a good one, but kinda forces people to group up to get the legacy stuff, which is a big no-no. Evidently I was not clear enough in my meaning, allow me to clarify. I am proposing this as an alternative option to paying with credits, not a replacement. So, let's say we set an equivalence of 1 Legacy Point = 50,000 credits. If you wish to purchase the ship repair droid upgrade which costs, if I remember correctly, 1 million credits you could pay either 1 million credits OR you could pay 20 Legacy Points, or even a mix of the two to come to the appropriate value. As for shafting solo players, that certainly would not be the intent. The first three ways of earning points I mentioned are all achievable without ever joining a group. Particularly on a PvP server so is earning Valour ranks. The list I posted was intended as examples, not as an exhaustive list. I'm sure there are other solo player friendly achievements that could be put in there.

While his examples are group focuse, which he may be into, he did not rule out solo content. Oh...wait...cant put the words "solo" and "content" together. Its an MMO nono. LOL. livnthedream
i see where you are going with it, but i dont personally see where the credit "problem" lies. even without running dailies just crafting, or completing old quest, etc gives you a boatload of credits. i personally made roughly 14m yesterday from crafting alone, and im not on a hugely populated server. Not everyone plays 8 hours a day to farm gold, runs flashpoints to get the expensive mats for crafting, or plays the GNT stockbroker game. This is a huge credit sink and an unexceptable one. We should eather get it unlocked at a set legacy level, the level being alot higher for some items ie 20+, OR pay credits NOT BOTH. Currently legacy level is meaningless i'm legacy level 22 and can unlock everything in the game atm except I don't have credits and am not going to farm gold. This is a huge credit sink and an unexceptable one. 1 hour running illum+belsavis=250k. crafting varies, and really gets combined with gtn since you really must know your market if you want to make any kind of decent credits doing it, just like any game. as to it being unacceptable, i disagree. its designed as a credit sink, since there really isnt enough of one currently in game. MalcomReynold
The legacy system, as I see it, is another benefit for "Founders". They got their "title", but that wasn't enough. So now they have a place to spend all those credits they accumulated while doing nothing once they hit 50 months ago.

This was not the impression most people got with the Guild summit. Everything else seems superb though and overall they have done a great job - keep it up BW
JamieKirby
I am personally thinking of the leveling process, the credits are just too scarce and crafting is not profitable unless you have the best of the best stuff, anything else is ignored. My blues sell like hotcakes at a fat person convention. They earn what I put in them plus a little extra. My purples go for about 10x what I put in them. MalcomReynold
Lol. Because when you get your characters to 50, they will remove this from the game, right? When I get my characters to 50 I will have something to sink my credits off so I won't be able to bulk buy 8 legacies all at once. The process of getting to 50 sinks your cash off. So folks who sat at 50 with nothing to spend cash on have a ton of cash for a ton of legacies. and LOL wow you needed me to help you with that concept? With the help of a friend, yesterday I was able to get from 48-50. Made 50 just after midnight. So say about 6 hours of just quests and drops. Before we started, I had 60k. By the end of the night, I had 800k. After training the skills I skipped during that time, including speeded training 40 and 50, I had just shy of 500k. I have a lot of unfinished quests. Half of corellia, Ilum, quesh bonus. So right there is easily another 300k, if not more. Then you add in the dailies. Omg. I have an opportunity to make a butt ton of money today, my other day off. (If servers come back. ) Will they get this stuff before you? Yes. Of course. You will always be 4 months behind them since you started 4 months after them. So what.
