BioWare,

Are you waiting for this month's subscription renewal before releasing 1.2 ???

For a patch supposed to be out in march.

Sounds like you want people to pay BEFORE the patch.

It sounds like some kind of conspiracy but this is a cash business so I might not be far from the truth.

----

What if you release 1.2 and we don't really like it, so we cancel our subscription BEFORE the renewal. It would suck wouldn't it???

amirite?

No, you're wrong. Its not a conspiracy. If they were to release it faster with bugs, you'd complain about that too, and you would have every right to. I'd much rather them take longer to release something so that its actually in a playable state, than release it with 21421412525235215t12512339123^99 bugs.

My eyes rolled so hard that I almost fell out of my chair. Because, if you did not want to keep your sub till 1.2 came out, it would be really hard to do the intelligent thing and not resub till 1.2 came out...

You might be right too..

After 3 months, we still have the same bugs in Eternity Vault.

yes.. the patch will not be released until next week. 2 days before the renew date of most accounts (18th according to steven reid)

they always will do this with any patch. They hold it as close to the subscription renewal so they they can bleed that extra month out of us if we do decide to quit.

I have played 1.2 on the PTS and so far my sub is cancelled because there is really no boost in FPS compared to live, and what good is new content if you still cant run the game at a good fps.

I think they are legitimately trying to balance all the complex factors involved with a huge patch release. I think they really are just trying to release the best patch possible.

I think their PR concerning the patch has been rediculously inconsistent.

Unfortunately the patch will probably come out after resub due to neccesity and not design. Will it be perceived that way... probably not.

Who said I didnt want to keep the sub till 1.2 comes out. All i'm saying is it's probable that BioWare wants us to pay before the release of 1.2

So if you don't like it well, it's too late, you paid for the month.

Extra month? Nobody is making you sub to the game until 1.2 arrives.

Thats the only thing i *really* liked about Trion.

I bought Rift, played it extensively.. then they came out with a patch that messed everything up big time (fundamental changes to many of the classes).. so i quit.

However, they implented the patch a few days before the billing cycle ended, giving their customers time to "look at the new game". I didnt like it and unsubbed, but major props to them for doing that.

For some reason, i really dont see EA (oh, i mean Bioware) doing the same :)

I am subbed to the game, release the patch today, i dont like it.... so i will remove my subscription.

No, wait AFTER this month's subscription and release 1.2, so if you don't like it, too late, you paid for the month

What on earth are you talking about? If you have subbed since day 1, the sub will not come up till the end of the month.

I like how these forums are like a sheeps pen for whiners. Keeping you all inside the gates, letting you out enough for a quick jog here and there, but nicely contained, and contentfully complaining.

Wait, wasn't the initial March release date (Well, there never was any actual date given, just "We're aiming for March", but we surely wouldn't want to clutter this whole thing up with facts, would we?) a dirty trick to get people with 3 month subs to renew? So, now, it's moved to April, but THAT'S a dirty trick, too! I'll bet this entire "adding new content" and "fixing bugs" is just a gimmick so people keep paying an ongoing subscription fee in the first place!

Does the FTC know about this?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, OP! Indeed, it's worse than you imagine! Since most people have monthly subs, any time ANY new content, patch, feature, fix, or what-have-you is announced, it's CLEARLY just an attempt to FORCE people whose subscriptions would expire to re-sub, since, if your subscription lapses, your characters are deleted and your account is canceled, so it's not possible to unsub before a patch, wait to see what kind of feedback and response there is on the patch, and then resub if it sounds good.

That is how it works, right? You can't just unsub if you don't like the game, or you're bored, or you think there's too many bugs, and then resub a month or six months or a year later if it sounds like the game is getting better? I mean, if you could do THAT, there'd be no way for BioWare to FORCE to you to keep subscribing, which would mean the OP's entire post is meaningless nonsense, and that just can't be. It. Just. Can't. BE.

I have 7 days left on my 3 month sub.

To be honest, if it was up to me, I would delay the patch to get those extra subs, cos I am sure many will quit after 1.2.

If my sub runs out before 1.2 is released, the curiosity will get the better of me and I will sub for 1 more month.

They made a huge mistake saying 1.2 would come in March, but they need much more end game content, the games dies so quick at lvl 50 and 1.2 is adding sweet fa.

We haven't had fundamental changes to any of the classes, unless you count their attempt to move Operatives from Burst to sustained DPS.
