Valthirus
How do I buy them SWTOR digitally without linking it with my account? Is it possible to buy it off Origin and copy paste my friend the code? Will it link it with my account?

Valthirus
I don't see where to go from there. It just takes me to the main page. Please advise. Is the product key linked with the SWTOR account or is it just a separate purchase to activate SWTOR? mightygaz
bah, thought that would save me typing it lol ok at top of page, next to search box, see where it says customer service? click that. brings up help topics. down bottom one section is "General overview of gifting" first link is "How do I use the gifting option at the Origin Store?" click that for an explanation of how gifting works on origin. should have all the info you need to buy it for someone. Valthirus
I search up your terms on google and I see the text, but it always redirects me to main origin page. Sigh.
Valthirus
It's just not there. What should I search to get there?
Kindara
The code is not auto connected to your account you have to apply the code to your account so you can buy it and send him the account or just gift him the money through paypal and he can go buy it. Either are viable
Valthirus
Paypal is greyed out for SWTOR. Sigh. So it looks like getting the box or making him an account?
Kindara
Paypal is greyed out for SWTOR. Sigh. So it looks like getting the box or making him an account? Please reread my post. I clearly said you can buy the Digital Copy of the game for him or GIFT him the money USING PAY pal (not origin) The Game Code you get from Origin is NOT tied to your account. They simply email you the code and then you can give him the code. He can set up his own account and enter the code and problem solved. Origin's Account System and SWTOR's account system are 2 completely different systems. Edited December 17, 2011 by Kindara

Placing a gift order1.Visit the Origin Store 2.Browse for the game or games you wish to gift. 3.Add the games you wish to gift to your Shopping Cart. 4.Click on your Shopping Cart to begin the checkout process. 5.Before you submit your order, make sure you check the 'This order is a gift' checkbox. This will start the gifting process. 6.You will need to provide the gift recipient's name and e-mail address. The gift recipient will not be charged. Review your information and complete your purchase as you usually would.

I am really trying to avoid buying the code and having it linked with me or say he can't use the the product key because it was registered to someone else. Valthirus
I just talked to EA support for those interested in this as well. You have to use the same Origin account with the same SWTOR account according to the rep.
mightygaz
thats madness, and i know from experience not the case for all games on origin. seems EA has not learned yet that they dont know better than steam how to do digital sales.
