Hey guys, does anyone here know why out of nowhere my lvl 6 Sith stops producing rage in the middle of combat?

This really ****s everything man. Lol

This happens a lot when a player replaces their attack under the '1' key. If you rely a lot on "autoattack" then you can get burned by this. Autoattack uses whatever attack you have under the '1' key so if you use the mouse button to attack and you put a non-rage generating power in the '1' slot you get this situation.

Curious, I wasn't aware there WAS an autoattack. I've typically used my opener (i.e. force leap on my JK) as my button 1 "right click" option, so I guess wouldn't have noticed if it was an auto-attack.

Does that turn on an actual automated autoattack if it was a move that didn't have a cooldown/distance restriction?

There's no "autoattack" but the very first attack that is in your Quickslot bar (number 1 by default) is your energy builder. That's true for every class in the game. You have to manually hit it each time, but that's the attack you use to build up Rage, or Focus, to regen your Force Power, etc.

The game doesn't have an "auto attack", it has a "filler attack". An attack that does not cost resources and in the case of the JK/SW actually builds resources. You have to use that ability to build rage/focus in order to use your other moves.

right clicking targets activates button 1.

thats the only "auto attack" there is. I had a similar problem why leveling my knight. i got used to right clicking to attack while busy and building up force, but then i swapped 1 for the guardian version that has a 6 second cooldown and wondered why right click was buggy for a while before i figured it out.

ok, just poor choice of terms by the poster then. Would have been sorta annoyed to find I've gone 50 levels (+alts) mashing button 2 when I could have put it in 1 to fire automatically. Edited by GnatB

ewh, mashing right button? *shudder*

One thing I did notice is it isn't possible (or at least wasn't, maybe it's changed?) to remap right mouse button to anything other than that quickslot 1 attack.

Really sort of annoying, putting whatever on both right button *and* keypress 1 is so redundant, so I end up with 1 being quickslot 2, 2 being 3, etc. etc.

Hmm.. from what I remember, can't even drag "companion attack" over to slot 1, which is what I'd *like* to have right button be for all my healers and ranged characters. (and, of course, can't map right button to quickslot 1)

Hopefully the new UI will change some/all of that.

its nice if you want to grab a drink of a soda or something and not have to take your hand off the mouse. IE you can play 90% of the game one handed. its also good if you want to attack something you arent targeting to get some threat on it, just stop hitting keybinds for a second, right click on the new target, then click on the old one and continue rotation.

its not a bad idea, just a poorly documented and controlled idea. IE they need to allow you to choose what attack to bind it to, or to move its focus to a different key other than 1.

heh, I usually use my mouse hand to drink, so continue full control with my keybind/board hand. Usually need to move/look around less than I need to hit different keys. 'Course, I also don't PvP, so enemies tend to be significantly more stationary.
