Antipathize
Stop saying the free weekends are padding subscription numbers. They don't have to subscribe to play, so those numbers only effect population counts, not subscription.
TheCynic
Wasn't there a release in Australia and Asia that happened after the Dec 2011 release? There was, but don't forget there is a portion of the 1.7mil that was already FROM that region. Also I'm unsure of what the numbers were before they launched there, but I do not recall hearing of any huge boost. Either way 3 things happen around July/August: 1) Numbers go up 2) Numbers go down 3) Numbers stay the same Numbers 2&3 are BAD!

unseenmaji
Agreed. Both previous announcements have been nothing but smoke and mirrors. They're obfuscating behind vague and subjective words that technically aren't lies, but certainly don't paint any concrete picture of what's going on behind the scenes. And why wouldn't they? If the game was brilliantly successful, they'd add more subjective words to their PR campaign, pointing to more than just TOR being the "fastest growing" MMO in history. What does that even mean? Why does "fastest growing" matter when we have people crying out about the abysmal state of their servers compared to others? If you don't believe the bean counters and investors are using smoke and mirrors to soften uneasiness about the game's success, or using subjective terms and ambiguities to paint a prettier picture, then you misunderstand what the law says a company can or can't do. It because some of the investors are thinking of pulling out, are annoyed that the game was released before complete, even Lucas Arts isnt happy with the way the game has gone and it is possible a court case may come against EA for damaging the repetation of George Lucas, if you think about it they used good videos to make us believe the game was better than it was and those videos iare not part of the game no in game cinematics at points in story, a ploy of advertising to decieve the consumer . Every MMORPG could use another 6 months....... but this game would have been much better with another 6 months for sure.
wifeaggro
Most MMORPG count any free trials as "subs". you are correct that is how WOW can claim 11 million subs when they actually have about 3 or 4 mill that actually pay the bills . china does not pay . Ive answered with a cancel the game is not a true MMO.
BCBull
Tomorrow is the big day /popcorn I was reading somewhere that time card users had to but 3 months, so if you bought the game with a time card (roughly 35%) then you will not be expiring until the end of April. I will say 1.1 million will be announced. Edited May 6, 2012 by BCBull
