Out of the 3 maps we have available to us...It is the only one which is better left than stayed.

 

You literally cannot come back from the game unless the other team terribly screws up. If you want to take a point and there is more than one person on the other team who doesnt want you to have it...You literally cant.

 

The moment you kill one person, and then kill the second...the first is already back to fight you again. The fact that people can almost instantly appear back at the points is so absolutely stupid that it makes the map very frustrating to play.

 

Please, re balance this terrible excuse for a PVP map.

On the PTS for 1.2 they removed the side speeders, so it will be easier to make comebacks by taking these nodes if they leave it as is.

 

That's actually a good idea.

 

Though, I wouldn't call Alderaan Civil War our "worst" PvP map, that title goes unequivocally to Huttball.

 

I like it. It is the best tactical map we have. If you're allowing the enemy to get to that 3 cap threshold then your team is just not playing well. A coordinated bait-and-switch can render the side-speeders moot.

huttball is the worst by several orders of magnitude. Actually, I'd say Alderaan is the best. There's no "single button instant kill" cheese junk like huttball has in spades and even void star has a bit.

couldn't agree more, i really... really dislike this warzone, really... really.. very much so.

i just have no fun with it. i get it so many times, out of every 20 games i probably get 13 alderaans and 7 void stars, the republic went on a winning streak of 5 straight alderaans and even winning 5 straight times i had very little fun. i ninjad a few caps which was fun just cuz it was tense if someone was going to catch me or not but other than that it was just BLAH!.

it really annoys me.

i have a hard time enduring the warzone.

 

i have a hard time understanding how running back and forth and hitting people off a long activation zone is supposed to be exciting and fun? arathi basin managed to be fun for whatever reason, maybe because there was more nodes and they were spread out, i'm not sure.. but alderaan needs to go. if anything because it's ruining pvp in the game for me, being forced to endure it over and over. yes, i could not pvp.. so basically i'm still forced into not taking part in something i enjoy.

 

just give us choices. if i can choose not to play it i'd be happy.

that's all i want, a choice.

I think you may just have been stuck with bad team mates. I've entered and played in plenty of Alderaan Civil War games where my team has had the advantage and the other team made a comeback, or where the other team had the advantage and we made a comeback. Don't blame the warzone for player incompetence.

Man, I really wish we could switch shoes. I seem to get huttball all the time (and I'm a republic player) and all I ever want to do is play civil war. Seriously, the second I see that I'm entering huttball, I log out when it loads.

trust me, i truly wish we could switch. haha. i would literally play, out of say 50 games total.. 40 huttballs and 10 voidstars if i had a choice. no joking. that's how it was for me and warsong gulch, i'd basically play warsong gulch all day with a few arathi basins thrown in.

and in unreal tournament i played facing worlds for 6 hours a day.. if it's a good map that i find exciting and fun i'm fine with playing it over and over.

 

in 3 days of 5-6 hours of pvp (amongst 3 characters) each day at least... i probably logged 4 huttball games total, all the rest were alderaan/voidstar with the majority being alderaan. (about an hour ago i logged off after 7 straight voidstars which is an amazing feat that not one alderaan in all that time.)

 

i guess you could come to mind trick republic side if you want nothing but alderaan, you will end up hating it eventually after the 100th game in a few days. :D

even someone who likes alderaan i can't imagine them liking it after that much time within.

imagine someone who doesn't like it, i feel like my brain's been abused.

I don't mind the warzone so much as all the whiners who take over ops chat the moment it doesn't go the way they want.

 

Anyway, side-speeders being removed will make a huge difference.

 

And to be totally crazy, how about random powerups that pop on the battlefield that you can go and pick up and take to a turret console to give that turret a X2 boost for 15 seconds? More chaos!

You need to L2P stat.

 

As for removing the speeders, how about they fix what needs fixing. The speeders have never been much of an issue. They already didn't need to add the 3 second delay, so taking them out is already another unnecessary breakage of the map. I've come back from deficits in half the games I've won. I've had plenty of 5 - 0 wins too. If you're not stuck with complete idiots, you can do it. If any map needs some serious adjustment, it's Hutt Ball. Making fire traps insta-death would be a nice change for starters.

Please stop it with all the bashing. Regardless of the player skills Alderaan had a major issue, and that is the side speeders. If you are up against "competent" players that capture both sides, there is no way in hell you are coming back. If you say that you did, then you werent playing against decent players, OR, they just didnt know about the side speeders, which until now many dont.

 

Removing the side speeders in 1.2 will make this WZ alot more fair to everyone, including less than perfect players :).

Removing the side speeders will help. The only other option would be to lower the cap times necessary on the side turrets, but that just doesn't seem like fun.

Its called stun, knockback, root, slow. The right combination of those leads to an easy cap. If you cant cap nodes while people on the enemy team are alive then quit now because you're doing it WRONG

lol yea because there is no such thing as Resolve bar, no such thing as CD, no such thing as 2+ players defending, no such thing as cc immunity or break, no such thing as range attacks from 30m and 40m. I am sorry, but unfortunately I dont play with such elite people than can walk on water too.

Give me a side a side turret with 2 other guys over vent no matter what class they are, and we will hold it for the entire game against any 4-6 players. I do it all the time, thanks to the side speeders, not because of our insane skills. Take those speeders out of the game, which in 1.2 they are, then we will not see a thread again with hundreds of posts about telling people to stop trying to cap a turret in Alderaan when the team is loosing.

I am tired of all the arrogant L2P comments, as if that is really the missing link.

 

You are saying that if you just L2P, you can come back from 400-100, from a 5-0 game, etc... Ok I have a question. What happens if the opposing team also takes your amazingly insightful advice and ALSO L2P. What then? I guess it will have to come down to whose schwartz is bigger than the other and then the trolls will come back here on the forums and say things like "L2Schwarts"
