cjacksonlasd Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Hello, I am am Level 50 but new to PVP. What is the best way and spec to get more medals in PVP so speed up commendations. I can get the 2.5K heal, 2.5 Damage, and finishing blow medals, but that is usually it. I try to kill more, but I usually end up dieing as well. What else could one do to get more medals. I am currently trying pure madness spec. Thanks.
Darkzided Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 come up with a hybrid spec get force bending get wrath get chain lightning the force bending will give you: 75k heal medal 2500 heal medal 5000 heal medal (reckless + force power adrenal) wrath chain lightning will get you: killing blow medal 75k dmg medal 2500 dmg in 1hit medal 300k dmg medal 10 kills medal 25k kills medal so 9 medals all in all if you get the 1v1 kill medal and the 1k defender and 3k defender that will make you 12 medals. i like medals too the defender medals you get from killing ball carriers or defending your goal. or the nodes in civil war

The medals you should be able to get without too much trouble: 1.) 2.5k heal: This is super easy 2.) 2.5k damage: Also super easy 3.) killing blow: should be easy enough, just finish someone off 4.) 10 kills: this can be hard if your team is getting totally blown out, but you should be able to get this just by actively fighting in pretty much any warzone 5.) 75k damage: again, if you are actively fighting you can get this one. Just throw those dots around, use your death field on groups, burn people down, etc etc After that, it can take a little more effort to get the others, here's some I like to get 6.) 5k heal: As a Biochem, I'm able to hit adrenals/stims plus Recklessness to get crit heals in the low 5k range. Without Biochem this can be a challenge for dps sorcs. 7.) solo kill: often I will get this because I come across someone who fled a fight and briefly went out of combat. 8.) 1k defender points: easy on Civil War & Voidstar, for Huttball just defend your end zone from time to time. 9.) 25 kills: spread your damage around, throw out dots alot, often your team will need to be victorious in order to earn this one. 10.) 300k damage: good luck! 11.) 3k defender points: easier on Civil War & Voidstar. Play around objectives. 12.) 75k healing: ok you probably won't get this, but with Parasitism + Devour (I use these) you can get this medal if you are doing well offensively, especially if you throw out some emergency heals. Also, sometimes I join a Civil War match that my team is losing badly, and I will quickly get a couple medals. What you do is you run to a control point that your team is defending, usually you have 1 unless you are getting blown out. Once there, I will stand on the control point and use Consumption several times until I get low in health and then heal myself back up. Do this several times and you can very quickly get 4 medals and walk away with a few easy commedations. Be careful of enemy cloakers though, they occasionally will spot you doing this and rush in and finish you off when you are low. Using this method I have been able to get 2.5k heal, 5k heal, 1k defender points and 3k defender points very very quickly. However, teammates probably won't like it if you do this, as it takes you out of the fight for a minute. Like I said, it's only for a match that you have no chance of winning. xdoctor Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Throw a bubble on people that are taking heavy damage or if you're running into a fight with someone. Damage mitigated by the bubble counts as healing. When a major skirmish is over, throw some heals around. Its really not hard to get the 75k healing medal in that way. You'll probably get the 2500 healing medal too. Stims with Recklessness should get you the 5k healing medal. I like to use Recklessness and pop a relic with Death field to get the 2500 damage in a single ability medal. In fact, I use Death Field every time its up and its rare to not get a medal for 25 kills. If you're DPS spec'd and having trouble getting the 75k or the 10 enemies medal, you're doing it wrong. Save a Wrath proc and then use Chain Lightning when someone is around 1500hp and you'll have the quick draw medal. The 300k damage can be tough, about the only time I get it is on Voidstar, but right now I'm only in Centurian gear. Hopefully that'll change in about a week. That's 8 medals, nine on Voidstar. If I get all those, I feel like I've done well.
bloodelfdude Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 (edited) get some AOE damage in to "tag" opponents you get credit if they die. Don't go crazy, just an occasional AOE when you see a tight grouped bunch in a fight. You should get the 10 kills everytime, and 25 kills most of the time. The 75K should come pretty easy if you dial in a rotation. Of course 4 medals per WZ is all you need until 1.2 comes out. Best of luck Edited April 2, 2012 by bloodelfdude
Athred Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 (edited) For 300k damage you gotta be constantly fighting, dropping DF and CL [wrath] a lot. For 5k heal I usually just need to have my resolve stim on + warrior buff + reckleness. 300k damage is easy on The Civil War, a bit hard on the pit [personally, I always try to help my team instead of doing damage in this wz], and The Voidstar is very easy I've gotten 490k dmg on this one, it can be a little hard only if you have a bad team. Solo Kill medal its easy if you can kite a melee or anyone else if you are skilled enough. For 75k healing I heal myself when I get with big damage, and there a number or abilities that heals you over time so it helps a bit. Max medals I've gotten is 12. Edited April 2, 2012 by Athred

I can easily get the following medals: EASY MEDALS 1) 2.5 Heal (easy) 2) 75K Heal - Just pop some heals and only takes 1-2 mins (easy) 3) 2.5 Damage (easy) 4) 75K Damage (easy) 5) 10 Kills (easy) MODERATE MEDALS 6) 5K Heal - popping Recklessness and Rakata Triage (moderate - have to do it several times to finally hit the 5K mark) 7) 25 Kills - I try to get 75K heals first, then go all out on damage point hitting the 75K then eventually hitting the 25 kill mark. HARD MEDALS 8) 5K Damage - So far I have been only able to achieve this once using reck and Force stims. 9) 1k Defender Points - I usually get this by accident not trying to go for it. 10) Solo Kill - I usually dont go for this, just get it by accident. I cant wait to finish my Champion Gear (I hate you gear bags, in 12 gear bags so far, never recieved a single piece of armor), and then to Battlemaster Gear. Thanks for the advise.

Thanks for the advise. Just feel lucky you will miss the RNG drop rate on BM comendations.... that is pure hell... I spend 2-3 hours everyday doing my dailies... get my two BM boxes, and most days no commendation.... but 1.2 will take away the RNG for BM gear, so you will miss that likely.

I'm glad you are having better luck in PvP, but will note that you didn't hit anyone for 5k as a Sorc anytime recently, nice try to fool someone though

I may have hit 4,400 at my highest. 5k heal on the other hand is very easy with gear and consumables
