Jedi Shadow combatlog parses

Hello,

 

couldn't find any before but luckily I got copied to PTS so I can provide my own. The following parses are with certain standard specs with full dps gear equipped. These stats are parsed by http://swtor.wildking.net/ but unfortunatly can't get a linkable result from there so I had to take a screenshot.

 

EDIT: Oh, forgot to post my stats. I'm almost full rakata geared, only head missing and switched out some accuracy mods for power/surge/crit here and there. And if you guys want anything shadow based tested, let me know.

About skill names in the parses:

 

- Crushed (Force) = Force Breach with Force Technique

- Crushed = Telekinetic Throw

- Dark Spike = Proc from Dark Energy Surge relic

Looking at your balance parse its looks like to me your using project to much, some of us dont even spec in twin disciplines because it kind of sucks just 10% to melee Dmg bonus nothing great, less projects means less saber strikes means more double strikes and FiB on cd, I think the dps could definitly be higher, your infil dps though was good

If you're doing parses over a long period of time, cut Project out. Project is good burst, but with it's high force costs it represents a net loss of DPS. You do far more damage from two double strikes than from one project. Your skill priority should look something like this:

 

  1. Force In Balance
  2. Mind Crush (with Force Strikes)
  3. Spinning Strike
  4. Force Breach (on expiration)
  5. Sever Force (on expiration)
  6. Double Strike
  7. Saber Strike

 

However, you're doing long parses, so you're going to run out of force. The key to squeezing the most out of Balance in sustained DPS is to use Saber Strike whenever you can proc Mind Crush. Mind Crush has a duration of 6s, and Force Strikes has a proc limit of 7.5s. So as soon as Mind Crush expires on your target, use Saber Strike (if you're under 60 force or so). The three strikes give you a really high chance to proc Force Strike. Since you have to put it into your rotation anyways, this is the most efficient place to use it.

 

 

Also, could you parse with and without Shadow Strike? While using Shadow Strike, it would be priority 5.5 on the list above, and (of course) used only with Infiltration Tactics up.

Thanks for this! Like I said, I'm not that experienced on balance yet so info like this should prove a bit more reliable results. I'll get some data as soon as the PTS downtime is over.

It is awesome that you posted, been looking for this info on infiltration since PTS has been up. With normal increased difficulty that comes from being Melee vs Ranged in Ops I'm just worried parses will show ranged to be far superior and cut the need for shadows out (sents are fine cause aoe buffs). This gives me some hope

I practiced the rotations quite a bit before taking the logging on so the result should be quite accurate. I did quite a few logs of those and got similar results. SS in rotation beats normal spec every time but of course it's quite easy to use on a training dummy..

You said you're fully Rakata geared. I'm assuming that's Rakata Stalker? Also, were you using cooldowns (Potency, Battle Readiness), relics, or adrenals for any of the logs? Did you have any class buffs other than your own? What builds were you using?

 

A Character Sheet would be really helpful too. Then we could know exactly what gives you those numbers ^^. But that's a lot of work, so we won't be upset if you don't feel like it. I still have to bully myself to update mine.

Yes it's rakata stalker, everything except head which is columi. Only selfbuffed and a hyperbattle resolve stim (+104). I'm always using potency and battle readiness on cooldown, no adrenals or proc relics (got Matrix cube and Dark Energy Surge which shows as dark spike on the logs). Maybe I'll build the profile when I have the time and motivation, I've swapped quite a few mods in my gear so might take a while :)

Can you please elaborate a bit about that spec - can yo show any talent calculators for it and the rotation? I've only been playing as infiltration and balance so far as I'm dedicated dps and don't do pvp. It might take a while for me to get this data for you because I want to train playing it first.

Fortunately Kinetic is the easiest spec to play on top of it all, so that you basically won't need much in order to do "well enough" for my test. Your basic priority queue should look like this:

- Spinning Strike on CD

- Double Strike until you proc Particle Acceleration

- Project under Particle Acceleration only

- Telekinetic Throw with Harnessed Darkness x3

 

When Force Potency is up, use it when you get 3 charges of Harnessed Darkness, so that you have a 60% higher crit chance on each of the 4 ticks of Telekinetic Throw for one charge of FP and follow it up with a Project (but only with PA up) in order to get the crit damage bonus for your second charge of FP.

 

Force in Balance is optional and should either not be used at all or right after Spinning Strike depending on the kinetic mitigation values of the test-dummy.

I don't think it's spinning strike on cool down. Shouldn't it be Slow Time on Cool Down?

Awesome work, thanks for all this :D

 

I'm glad to see that the difference between balance and infiltration is extremely small and, due to it only being a 4min log, could easily be accounted for by a rng crits (working both ways ofc :p)

 

Out of interest, what are similarly geared people parsing on other classes? I'm a bit too lazy to check around, just curious if we're within, say, 100dps of sentinels, or ahead of commandos or anything like that.

 

 

Finally, can't wait to see the KC logs! The standard 31/0/10 log will be ace, I've been trying to defend KC in main forums by saying our single target DPS is rubbish and some logs to prove it would be great.

I don't recognize some of the spells in the damage by spell analysis (balance) :

 

What is Crushed (Force)? Is it the DoT part of Mind Crush?

Or is the DoT part included in the Mind Crush entry?

Is this Force Breach?

 

If not:

Where is Force Breach?

 

Where is Spinning Strike? Target dummy at permanent 100% HP?

 

What is Dark Spike? Some sort of trinket proc?

This is excellent I'm going to add a section in the Handbook for what DPS classes should be parsing with specific gear etc. Give the community an idea of what type of numbers they should be representing.
