Narblazu Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Anyone else doing this? I guess server merges aren't happening, so I'm dumping my 50s toons and screwing my legacy for playing on a heavy/very heavy server instead, starting over from scratch. My "standard" server with 100 players in fleet most of the time is dead... dead DEAD D E A D! Player initiated server merging where we go!

maxilo Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 already did this wonder if that was their plan all along ?
seallone Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 (edited) Nope, 1 month sub after 1.2, see how it goes and see what devs have planed. Not got much hope tho, still not fixed sli Edited March 30, 2012 by seallone

It is not ideal, but 3 months of work can be easily regained.
RixoFutu Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 I have my main on dead server. I have one toon on dead server. I re-rolled 2nd time and now playing on better but still not perfect server. Every time i think that server is good enough, but they slowly dying. So i'im sick of re-rolling.
Adderdin Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 It is not ideal, but 3 months of work can be easily regained. Yes 3 months of work can be easily regained by.... doing another 3 months of work! In 1 month and 15 days Diablo 3 is coming.
OmegaMayhem Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Yes 3 months of work can be easily regained by.... doing another 3 months of work! In 1 month and 15 days Diablo 3 is coming. And you and many others will be disappointed and head right back here.
Adderdin Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 And you and many others will be disappointed and head right back here. Nothing can be more disappointing than singleplayer SWTOR or ME3 ending.
OmegaMayhem Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Nothing can be more disappointing than singleplayer SWTOR or ME3 ending. So why do you still play? If I was so disappointed with this game I would unsub and move on.
DieAlteHexe Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Yup, moved several times but the opposite direction. I was on a very crowded server and didn't care much for it. Finally found a nice not-too-crowded, not-too-empty server.
Nitewolfe Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 I am on my 3rd reroll now and to be honest its getting tiring. Started at headstart on a server that had que times. It went dead. Reroled to a full/que time server and it died. Rinse repeat to the only full/que server now its down to just heavy at prime time. I was looking around again tonight at prime time (7:30 cst for me) and none of them were full and only fatman was heavy and i dont do pvp servers. Not sure i have it in me to reroll again anyways.

Community project for SELF MERGE was started awhile ago you find the link in my signature.... Spread the word!
Aethusa Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 I already did twice ! It's called rerolling and that killed my true SWTOR experience actually. I'm waiting for some new games just cause of that. But i keep playing SWTOR for now. there is nothing better to do.
Narblazu Posted March 30, 2012 Author Posted March 30, 2012 Community project for SELF MERGE was started awhile ago you find the link in my signature.... Spread the word! Sounds more like your trying to boost the population of your own server Everyone just drop the server they are on and go to the very heavy / full server and just make it queue down so much bioware HAVE to merge the others
kalimarr Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Only 100 people on the fleet?!? Try 20ish on The ShadowRunner PVP EU server at prime time I'm waiting for 1.2 update to re-roll as that will tell me 1.) if that server is truly dead 2.) if it is then when I re-roll I'll have better character textures, new UI, better musical prompts and higher pop will hopefully make the experience fresh again... maybe...
AislingKerrigan Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 100?!?! I don't think fleet on Rep side has been that high in Sanctum of the Exhalted since January.
Ahkronn Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Did that twice, not doing it again. Transfers / Merges or burst!
flyersfan Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Only 100 people on the fleet?!? Try 20ish on The ShadowRunner PVP EU server at prime time Agreed. 100 isn't that bad in comparison to many other servers. My server had nearly 100 on it tonight at around 2 in the morning EST (on EST server). I'm glad to see some people are moving themselves instead of crying about the server merges and transfers. I agree that they should happen, but it's rather evident (and has been evident for months now) that it's not in the near future. It's more worth your time to switch servers and try something new. When transfers are finally allowed, you can transfer your character to your new server and enjoy them in tandem. I'm excited for transfers so I can get my Vanguard and all the goodies that she's carrying onto my new server.
Moromillas Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Nothing can be more disappointing than singleplayer SWTOR or ME3 ending. What was wrong with the ending again?
flyersfan Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Sounds more like your trying to boost the population of your own server Yes, he's taking an initiative that is mutually beneficial for all people involved. His server gets more people and other people get a server with more people. It's a win-win. I'm glad to see someone stepping up to the plate instead of pointing the finger at Big Brother (BioWare).
Macabakur Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 (edited) Made a post on this awhile back. Idk 3 or 4 weeks ago, glad to see that what I envisioned seems to be taking place. Still a bit worried about the new or returning players but the idea is still rudimentaly sound. Edited March 30, 2012 by Macabakur
kalimarr Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 What was wrong with the ending again? From what I hear Mass Effect trilogy should be named Min Effect due to the decisions your character made leading up to ending having no bearing at all on the story.
chaosdefined Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 I joined a low pop server with a real life buddy. Got up to level 30 on my BH and was enjoying the storyline, but then he quit and so I felt a bit alone. Could barely ever get a FP. Then another real life buddy told me to join his server republic side, so I rolled there and joined his guild. Having a much better time! Friendly guys, and I can get a low level FP within minutes in the Fleet, it's fantastic! I feel kinda annoyed about leaving my BH, who I was really enjoying, but as Legacy doesn't spread across servers, I guess all the time I spent on him will probably just go to waste.
ConradLionhart Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 (edited) From what I hear Mass Effect trilogy should be named Min Effect due to the decisions your character made leading up to ending having no bearing at all on the story. Why are developers so lazy nowadays? Can't the same Bioware company do what they did for Dragon Age: Origins and Baldur's Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal, where in the end, they showed screenshots explaining in text what effect their decisions caused? Wouldn't it be REALLY simple to do something like that? Screenshots of primary companions: Explaining what happens in their lives afterwards. Screenshots of supporting casts: Explaining what happens in their lives afterwards. Screenshots of locations: Explaining what happens to those places afterwards. Create a screenshot and text explaining the effects of every single decision you've made since Mass Effect 1. It's just a bunch of screenshots and a bunch of text, then you play them like a slideshow. How hard can that be to code? That kind of ending should be enough to satisfy people. Witcher 2's ending is just as bad. They just show one cutscene, and that's it, never telling you how your decisions affected the world. Edited March 30, 2012 by ConradLionhart
