And I was wondering if i can jump into heroics right away, should i be doing some dailies, should i pvp, what do i need to do to prepare for any "end-game" content

If your gear has been kept up to date (ie. high level blues or epics, or oranges with lvl 45+ mods), you should be able to go into the easier heroics just fine: BT/Esseles, Boarding party/Taral V. PvP is an easy way to get gear - it won't be as good as raid gear because of stat distributions shuffling in favor of adding expertise, but it can let you skip heroics to go straight into raiding. Obviously if you plan to pvp heavily, you'll have to get pvp gear.

Black Talon, Boarding Party, Battle for Ilum, and False Emperor are all pretty easy to jump into when you hit 50, especially if you're a dps. The Belsavus and Ilum PVE dailies all give decent mods if you have orange gear to put them in, so doing them for a couple days ought to make doing HMs easier, but I didn't have that much trouble even as a fresh 50 healing through them (don't know about tanking, I haven't hit 50 on my Sin yet). If you get a good group, it shouldn't be that hard to get through a couple and get started on your gear progression, the only trouble that I've ever had with under geared people on those four is a couple of the enrage timers due to lower than average damage, which you can fix by using your Adrenal and Relics correctly. Also, as counter-intuitive as it sounds, doing the regular mode Ops can help you gear up for HM FPs (yes, in this game, raiding is easier than 4-man content).

 

As far as PVP goes, everyone told me that it was a faster, smoother gear progression than doing HMs, but I stopped listening to them when I got my HM weekly done in the time it would have taken me to gather enough of those stupid boxes on Ilum to get my daily (and got two pieces of Columi out of it).

Do some dailies for mods to put in your orange gear. New hilt, armoring, mods and what not.

 

At the same time you can do some of the easier HMs. BP can be tricky for an undergeared group, the last boss will hit enrage if dps is slacking too much or just not geared enough. BT and foundry are both really easy to start with though.

thank you all for your help and suggestions, i'll do a couple dailies and keep my gear up, its mostly orange, and all mods are 48+ with i think 2 or 3 being 44. I'll try to find a group for heroic black talon
