mattgyver
you are correct, it is a valid game design choice, but not for the masses. as much as i like eve, and am looking forward to wod, i cant play it for more than 1-2 months at a time. i get bored. its the same reason why i dont care for the elder scrolls games, i like the pre designed story intention. i want to play a story, not roll around in a sandbox. i think the disconnect between the two sides, or atleast my opinion, is that i dont care too much about the world, aslong as it gives me what i need to function im good, i care very specifically about my character. whether its making him far more powerful than everything around him, or just making him look good. im very pleased with this game. i understand that you, and your group, are not. im also very sorry that you didnt do proper consumer due diligence to see if you were actually going to get what you expected. the problem is with you, not the game. Good post. I am a Star Wars fan and there is really only one MMO out that uses that IP currently. I don't consider this game hopelessly incongruent with my playstyle, but I do wish there was more to it. The game is not elegant in it's design, but rather it is simple. Your character is defined by the world in which the character lives. There is no reason to be powerful or look good unless you have something to gauge that against. If the world is simple, your character is diminished. I am interpreting your post to mean that you feel that you are at the pinnacle of your achievement and don't want anything to change concerning that situation. I can't help but suspect you will be gone soon from the game unless you are a very casual player. I could be missing your point though. I personally can't get on board with topping out 2 months in and then having 2 activities to choose from (OPS-FP/PvP). I engage in both of those activities, but regular PvE at 50 is MIA. As for due diligence, unless you were in protracted beta, the advertising and information leaned on the story aspects with some mention of PVP. NDA dropped very late, and the information out there seemed to be polarized into: this game is going to suck, or it's the greatest game ever. So it was hope for the best. mattgyver
Need: Randomized Mobs: The mobs might as well be on the planetary map they are so static. This is terrible and makes the worlds more stale than any other feature. Also would like mission terminals to kill these mobs as repeatable aternative to story quests for alt leveling/lvl 50 content. Randomized Loot Tables: More loots, looted special Mats, rotation of loot types through mobs on different planets. Varied level of mobs per planet: Put content in for the range of levels on the planets. Some Black Sun guys for my level 45-50 to fight on Coruscant in the lower levels, etc.
Nukenin
I don't want player-created content in SWTOR, unless the player in question has been hired in a professional capacity by BioWare to design and/or implement content in SWTOR. A different Star Wars-themed MMO game built from the ground up to support moderated player-created content would be welcome, of course. Maybe then we'd finally get a full, proper in-game implementation of sabacc!
