jitsuo Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 (edited) -Against a cleansing class, dotting them up and then casting Force Choke allows for the maximum effectiveness of your bleeds -Intimidating Roar can be used as an interrupt, remember that -When you and your opponent are nearing the end of your lives, you will have two CD's to use (Force Camo and Undying Rage). If you are pretty sure you won't be able to win against your opponent, Intimidating Roar-->Force Camo--->Predation out of there. If you think you CAN win, hit Undying Rage. Try to hit your strongest attacks (Annihilate/Vicious throw) and if your enemy isn't dead in the next hit, hit Deadly Saber, use Rupture, and then stack DS as much as you can. When Undying Rage is finished, THEN use Force Camo. You'll disappear and (if you're Phantom specced) you will be immune to damage while the dots eat away at them. You can usually materialize for a quick Vicious Throw to finish them off. -Obsfucate all weapon damage classes (Juggy/Mara/PT Pyro/Sniper/whatever else uses weapon attacks), this takes away a lot of damage. Seeping Wounds is convenient but, against enemies who know how to kite with 50% slows, Crippling Slash is a MUST (I'm looking at you Ops healers) Use Ravage for the first two hits (they hit one after the other) and then hit Annihilate. The slow animation of Anni works with Ravage so the three hits come VERY close together. It can be used for a pseudo burst with little relative Rage used. -Use Sweeping Slash outside of battle to build Fury. -If you don't HAVE to charge to an enemy, don't. There's nothing wrong with hoofing it up to an enemy. Save the Charge for a Knockback or Stun-and-run, you'll have more uptime on your enemies. More uptime=more DPS=more kills=less dying. -You can kill 90% of Snipers but WATCH OUT, because a well played Sniper is your counter class, do not underestimate them. -You have multiple defensive CD's, each usable in a different situation, learn to mix and match. If you THINK you SHOULD pop a defensive CD, pop Cloak of Pain. It lasts 30 seconds with someone hitting you and has a CD of a minute. If you NEED to pop a CD, assess the situation and use the correct one. (i.e. a Sniper is bombarding you so you use either Force Camo to gap close or Saber Ward to tank the damage). For now, that's all I can think of Edited March 27, 2012 by jitsuo
doromleynek Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I agree with a lot of these things, especially for Force Charge. I always try to save it for when I'm knocked back, someone tries to run away, or in Huttball to make traveling easier.
darth_billy Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 (edited) when you charge someone position your self properly, make sure there is an object behind you or stay alligned with ypur target(the hypothetical line between you and you target should be parallel to the catwalk's/ramps's edges) p.s.-Use Sweeping Slash outside of battle to build Fury. Also, use it in battle to spread DS stacks to many people, increasing your healing. i ve been doing this a lot and i think that your dots are applied only to one person, i wish you are wright on this Edited March 27, 2012 by darth_billy

Spiderbubble Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 http://www.torhead.com/ability/5QtmN4A/deadly-saber nuff'said Does this mean it works or that it doesn't? The tooltip says it should, as Sweeping Slash is a melee attack, but it's not specific on AoE melee attacks. If it does work, then I just learned something new and will definitely apply this in the future. Force Choke>Vicious Throw is a very nice way to end anyone's life. If you're not interrupting regularly, you're doing something wrong.
AcaciaDragon Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Snipers are not our "counter class". Anyone who has trouble with them is playing this class wrong.
atreyuz Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 (edited) You forgot to add the best advanced-pvp pro tip a marauder: - Hit people with your sab0rz Edited March 27, 2012 by atreyuz
jitsuo Posted March 27, 2012 Author Posted March 27, 2012 Snipers are not our "counter class". Anyone who has trouble with them is playing this class wrong. You are unfortunately wrong. Snipers screw us because they have an anti-charge, an anti-stun, and an accuracy debuff. KB-leg shot makes it so we have to use Force Camo and our defensive CD's are countered by their Mez's. Snipers vs. Marauder is a DPS race that we don't have 100% uptime for. It's the same problem PT's have against us with out Obsfucate

Foxcolt Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Snipers are not our "counter class". Anyone who has trouble with them is playing this class wrong. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's our counter class, in fact I don't think the idea of "counter classes" is very prominent in this game at all. But a well played sniper in equal gear in a 1v1 situation is very tough for a marauder to take down.
HBninjaX Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 (edited) pretty solid tips. Defensive forms + sweeping slash can build up fury in a hurry if you're getting pounded by multiple people, then you can hit predation and some defensive cooldowns to make your escape to the nearest medpac. In Alderaan/Voidstar it's not uncommon for me to have a few dozen kills and 0 deaths with proper use of my defensive CD's, predation, and the medpacs. People will follow you to the ends of the earth to kill you, and you can use that to your advantage. For almost a guaranteed score in huttball try to acquire the ball when predation is ready, and you have frenzy, unleash, undying rage and a wz medpac. Pop predation, then frenzy/predation when that runs out, and if need be run through the fire with undying and medpac, and force leap to anyone spawning. Even against a stacked team you can pull this off. Also if you have 2/2 phantom it's nigh impossible to get killed on the hazards, also you can go for passes through the fire or FC when you get knocked on to the fire/acid You can also use intimidating roar to mez people while on the hazards, damage DOES NOT break the mez. I've killed up to 3 people at once on the fire with this. Force leap, mez, if they unleash you can choke them, try to save your mez and choke for the fire if at all possible Edited March 27, 2012 by HBninjaX
