Does anyone know when EA/Bioware will have to release there latest subscription numbers? I just can't wait to get a good laugh from them, and to say to myself, "Thats what you get for releasing junk".

I cant wait to see them and go "Oh Wow, look at that, subs are still exactly where they were before... guess all those people talking about bleeding subs and qq I am quitting are liars, just like they where liars a month ago, and a month before that... so on and so on.

You may be right, or they may be higher than before. However, myself being a long time gamer, and being as let down as I was with this game, I can only imagine there are A LOT of others that feel the same way as I do.

There's no law.

And there's no point in releasing them either, atleast not to the public. Investors may want to know tho :p.

OP, it's time to grow up. If you think numbers mean anything, can you say that Farmville is the best game ever created, and be serious?

Or that Justin bieber is the greatest musician in the world...

But i guess numbers mean alot to people, but those people are in general Weak and insecure. They can't make up their own mind, and stick with it. They have to follow whatever other people do.

If you say "Jump" OP asks "How high?"

It's actually kinda sad :/ Hope you get well OP.

Is there a law that states they have to release the information?

I think it's the sort of information that shareholders would nowadays expect to be briefed in in an investor's report, but they're not legally required to release subscriber numbers, no - just earnings.

That info would make the fanboys insane with rage, so Bioware has to keep it secret.

EA is a public company, they are indeed obliged to report their numbers in detail to stock holders. Probably not subscriber numbers specifically, but financial numbers. However, if they do report subscriber numbers at an investors call (as they did a few months back), they have to be (and are) correct. If you lie to your inverstors, you go to jail.

Yes you are correct

There's a German word for this sort of perspective.

That fits this scenario perfectly for me, thank you. I will get pleasure from seeing the misfortune of EA, for forcing Bioware to release this game 2 years early.

you will find that they just released new figure, ow look its still at 1.7 mil.

That number is not new 1.7 was just after the initial 30 free days ended

I heard a rumor that one of the top dawgs at EA or Bioware actually mentioned upcoming positive news concerning subscriptions. It was vague, so not sure what they meant by it.

Can anyone get the source of that rumor into this thread?

The only way it will be at 1.7 million or higher is if EA pays people to subscribe to this game.

I have been reading this forum since day 1 whenever I am not in game, to keep up with whats going on.

And week after week, and day after day there is another person like yourself going "WAAAH this game is not what I want, I am unsubbing!"

or

"Bioware what are you doing? This game is bleed subs like crazy"

or

"OMG my server is sooo empty and no one plays anymore, is this game dead?"

----

The reality is, this game has consistently had 1.7 mill subs since day 1, with over 2 mill in sales...

If you play in game, everyone is enjoying themselves... and the only place you see this doom and gloom is on the forums where all the trolls feed.

Is this game for everyone? No of course not, but this game is exactly what Bioware advertised it as. And most people who are disappointed did not do their homework before wasting mommy and daddies paycheck.

And was repeated as a current number in February again. Which prooves that they were not growing, but also that the game is not collapsing, as it seemed they at least have a 'new customer' rate equal to the amount of people that are leaving after the first months.

Which is better than most MMO's in their second month I might add.

Still interested on current (March) numbers though. Servers seem more active, I wonder if that is the results of weekend passes and friend-invites or actual new customers though.

since the launch....they claim 2.5 million copies sold

subs as of this last weekend from a buddy on the inside who i met at guild summit are down to approx 250-300k ...changes daily up and down...but the 60 day time cards ran out and subs fell off about 1 million in a day....quickest drop in mmo history...

EA is embarased...but EA is to blame, not BW

in may is there next investors conference call and they are under legal standards of the law forced to release accurate paying subscription numbers. you will not know until then and they will not opost them here you will have to listen to the investors report to get them.
