Only 1 companion talks in space, and he's always talking smack about my piloting

I'd like to be able to:

 

A) Shut him up.

 

B) Have more companions speak so there is greater variety.

 

One, the other, or both.

Edit: I'm a Consular, and it's Tharan Cedrax.

Should I fly?

 

*sigh* where's the escape pod?

Would be cool if the companion would not only talk a random sentence with zero meaning to the actual situation..

 

E.g. Space Mission just started: "Kira: The engines cant take more if this" or "Reactor Critical"... Jeez, we just STARTED, the ship is fine, shut up, girl.
